Been on a Tears For Fears kick lately.
Recently I have been going back to listening to Tears For Fears. One of my favorite 80’s synth rock bands. Their song Sowing the Seeds of Love is masterfully written and performed. A well known 1967 era Beatles tribute. If King’s X had covered this back in their heyday, it would’ve been a cool more guitar heavy rendition. The vocal harmonies are exactly like something from Gretchen Goes to Nebraska.
Anyways…
TFF have so many great songs. The music is very uplifting and therapeutic.

I enjoy a good, well written pop song and they have a few. Besides the radio songs, Pale Shelter, , Change and Mad World are great.

The greatest hits album pretty much gives me all I need… but there are some great deep tracks here and there too.

I never got into ABBA, but I like Ambrosia. I’m a sucker for a powerful vocal hook.
I also like Simple Minds and Genesis (80’s era).

Metal and heavy rock will probably always be my favorite music, but I love melodic music too. I think part of my love of the 80’s is nostalgia. It takes me back to a more peaceful mindset.

If you were a Christian and had been growing in your walk with the Lord... you would have much more peace now than back then.
Any Christian that looks favorably back at the old days as being better then what their lives are now.... has not been growing in the Lord and is backsliden needing to repent of their sin and turn back unto the Lord
2 Corinthians 5:17
If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; LOOK, all things are become new.

Re: Been on a Tears For Fears kick lately.
We seem to have a Pharisee-style troll in the house.
You're the kind of blankety-blank that drives people away from Christ. That doesn't seem to jibe with the super-holy-man nonsense you've been carpet bombing this board with. Shame on you. Better spend another 39 years in deep reflection and get back to us in 2062. Maybe then you'll be a more refined soldier for Christ and we'll all be re-baptised in your church.
I have no authority here to make you leave, but I'm inviting you to get lost anyhow.

Declaring what God says in His Word... brings no shame upon me.
It always amazes me when people say they are Christians and then get upset at things God says in His Word!

Simple Minds is the best with the most consistent catalog of the style imo. Better than U2.

Did Jesus look forward to being Crucified? He is God’s son and he still had troubles. So you think a Christian life has no tribulations? Humans have emotions and memories. The way you attacked me is proof you are not a happy person! Joyful people don’t do what you do.
Bye TROLL!

I've always liked Tears For Fears musically and they have some great lesser-known 90's songs like "Break It Down Again" and "Elemental." Just like Duran Duran had some great 90's songs like "Ordinary World," "Come Undone" and and "Too Much Information."
Lately I've been on a Carly Simon, Pink Floyd, and Pretenders kick.
