Favorite Rainbow album?

Such a phenomenal band.

I’m gonna give the nod to Rising which, for me, is the second greatest hard rock album of the 70s. (VHI is first). But Long Live Rock and Roll is right behind it. 

Stargazer is one of the greatest songs ever made.

I even like the post-Dio stuff, especially Straight between the Eyes.

Actually Down to Earth for me, Bonnet just wails and Cozy is stellar. Enjoy all the eras though.

Rising

Long Live Rock n' Roll is a very close second though.

Next would be Down To Earth.

Difficult To Cure is great too though.

Ritchie is the godfather of the entire melodic neo-classical metal genre. You can even hear it in his 60s/70s Deep Purple stuff. It's one of my favorite styles of music.

 Richie Blackmore's Rainbow Is a great debut too.

Like Joe Lynn Turner when He joined Malmsteen but not with Rainbow.

If this was Dio I'd shrug my shoulders. They are all excellent In my opinion. Don''t why Angry Machines gets such a bad rap. It's amaze balls.

That would be Rising. But the only other album by them that I know is the debut.

If you like Rising, definitely check out Long Live Rock and Roll. It’s very similar to Rising.

Long Live R&R from the Dio era.  Not a bad track on the album and has some of my favorite Rainbow tracks "Gates of Babylon", "Kill The King", and "LLR&R" are simply amazing

Bent Out Of Shape from the JLT era.  For me I pretty much consider the JLT era albums a completely different band from the Dio era. Again some amazing songs "Can't Let You Go", "Street of Dreams" and "Desperate Heart" are the best IMO.

On Stage.  Double Live album with Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio, Tony Carey, Jimmy Bain & Cozy Powell.  First Rainbow record I ever bought, right when it came out.  Was a favorite back then.  Even my mother liked it!

I also like later pop-metal Rainbow like "Stone Cold," "Death Alley Driver, and "Street of Dreams."   

Almost got to see them on the "Straight Between The Eyes" tour in upstate NY but the show got cancelled.  
It would have been Rainbow / Scorpions ("Blackout" tour!) / Blackfoot.
