Favorite Journey album?

Escape and Frontiers are near the top, but I’ve gotta go with Departure. Love that thing.

This is another thread I'm useless on. I only know 2 or 3 Journey songs, much less whole albums. I'll be watching this thread and trying out some albums this week.

Frontiers barely over Escape and I really like Revelation with Arnel.

I would agree with Frontiers barely above Escape, although Escape has "Who's Cryin' Now?" and "Stone In Love" which are my favorite songs of theirs along with "Separate Ways."   Both are strong albums.

Have to also give a nod to the live album Captured which is good and has a very under-rated studio track "The Party's Over (Hopelessly In Love)."

Yes, Captured is a great live album, captured their energy well.

Another band I was raised on!

Frontiers is my favorite.

That whole string of albums consisting of - Infinity, Evolution, Departure, Escape and Frontiers - is incredible. They're at their best playing that melodic hard rock (almost pop-metal at times) style.

I do like the first 3 prog/fusion albums fairly well. I always liked Gregg's vocals.

The soundtrack album they did called Dream After Dream is a fun listen now and again. The song "Little Girl" from that release is awesome.

I even like Raised On Radio. Took it a little bit to grow on me. It was the culmination of the radio-friendly "pop" direction they'd been pursuing since Perry joined the band.

The albums after that all have their moments, but I don't listen to them very often. I really like Revelation and Eclipse though. Need to hear the newest one.

Anyone like the two albums with Augeri? I find them inconsistent but still having some good songs.

Same here. 

Haven't heard them in quite a while though. Maybe I'd like them better these days.

I would still pick Escape just slightly over Frontiers.  Revelation with Pineda.  With Augeri I would say the Arrival album was pretty good, but Generations was only about half good.

As for least favs, it's difficult because I don't really have those first 3 "Pre-Perry" albums (and probably never will).  From the Perry era I thought "Raised on Radio" and "Trial By Fire" were kind of hit or miss (more miss than hit).  Generations might have to be my least favorite.  However, I don't have the latest album "Freedom" and from the 5 or 6 tracks I've listened to I'm not sure I'll get it.

Freedom is another one with some good songs but inconsistent.

Frontiers, by a narrow margin over Escape, but a couple of my favorite tracks are on Trial By Fire.
