Stay for favorite.
Camelot for least, just find it boring.

"A Little Sleep" drags down what is otherwise a pretty decent album. Listen to this album without that track and you'll see it's more consistent.

Map is definitely the most "Bowie" song on the album. It's weird and I like it!
Back to "A Little Sleep" - they should have done the whole rap-meets-metal thing on What A Joke. Would have fit the vibe on that album better.

So far the only Deliverance albums to which I've listened attentively are s/t and Weapons. I love both of them but like Weapons most.

I’ve always thought the debut was overrated. It’s solid, but it’s pretty samey throughout.

Second: Learn.
Least: Assimilation (not bad but it should be a Fearful Symmetry album, not Deliverance).

Re: Favorite and least favorite Deliverance albums?
Never heard Assimilation or River Disturbance. I've heard and own everything else. This is thread is helping my case for never buying River Disturbance.
Favorite: Weapons of Our Warfare - it's quite simply a classic in every sense for me. After that I love Learn and, even more strange, the new Camelot in Smithereens may turn up tops. I have been and am still blown away by it. It's just too new to compare.
Least Favorite: Not having heard the two up top, I really don't like much of the last three but each has some great material. As Above, So Below is the one that has had least traction with me and the weird production doesn't help.

Stating what I had, as this thread continues on, can people make comments on Assimilation? I've rarely heard a comment on it other than the general consensus that its bad. Do people actually own it? It came out in a really dead period for bands of that type. I kind of assumed it was hard to find and generally rarely heard.
Re: Favorite and least favorite Deliverance albums?
I enjoy it for what it is. It’s more progressive industrial metal than any other D album, but there are some good moments. I really don’t care for industrial metal, but there’s enough good melodies to make it worthwhile for me.Frozen Fire wrote:Stating what I had, as this thread continues on, can people make comments on Assimilation? If you’re a D fan or like industrial elements in your music, I say give it a shot.
I recommend River Disturbance above it, though, since you said you haven’t heard that one, either.

It seems very 90s Rammstein-influenced.
Heavier guitars than River or Camelot.
Catchier songs too.
I like it quite a bit.

Assimilation is extremely underrated. The strongest Deliverance album lyrically imo.Frozen Fire wrote:Stating what I had, as this thread continues on, can people make comments on Assimilation? If you hire Jayson Sherlock to play drums, make the most of it!

Re: Favorite and least favorite Deliverance albums?
I'm not really a Deliverance fan (although I can understand why folks are), so I've never heard Assimilation. Thought I'd take a listen after the Rammstein comment. Now I've listened to a couple tracks and think it sounds better than the Deliverance albums I do have (What A Joke and S/T)
Maybe I'll have to put that on my wish list.

I do think it's one of their best, even though I still love the two you haveFundy wrote:I'm not really a Deliverance fan (although I can understand why folks are), so I've never heard Assimilation.
