Favorite Barnabas Album?
These guys (and gal) need more love.
Of the three I have (Approaching Light Speed, Feel the Fire, Little Foxes) my favorite is actually Little Foxes by a hair over Approaching Light Speed. But I love all three and am so thankful they were reissued.

I remember liking them but need to listen to them more.

ALS. Feel the Fire is a little too "clean" though I still enjoy it and Little Foxes sounded like a band who was quitting, inconsistent songwriting.

Approaching Light Speed.
I loved this band back then and still do. Actually, I like all their albums and I do like Hear The Light even though it sounded more Demo-ish. They really came into their own with ALS and Feel The Fire. I appreciate Little Foxes and FYHAH as well …. I wish they were still around. They were probably one of the hardest Christian bands in the early 80’s.

LF has this sound of desperate urgency to it to my ears. But ALS is certainly a monster.
Re: Favorite Barnabas Album?
I really dig their last 3 albums, some serious rocking good stuff.
I would have to go with Little Foxes as my favorite....but just barely over ALS and FtF

Re: Favorite Barnabas Album?
back in the day when I listened to them regularly I would have said
ALS because it's the heaviest...you know, young and dumb...
"if it ain't heavy it ain't music!!!"
I like all their stuff so but I'm not sure now what would be #1...

Re: Favorite Barnabas Album?
I like the occasional Barnabas song and not enough to buy their music. I had Little Foxes on cassette. I have a lot respect for them as one of the pioneering/founders Christian Proggy/Hard Rock/Metal Oriented Band. They paid their dues and got ripped off by so called Christians. Nancy Jo Mann has a intense testimony as well.
I have respect for these pioneering bands even though I may not like their music enough to collect. In the mid to late 70s to early 80s bands that rocked out or were in mart or mostly on the heavier side of rock that started in the 70s to 1986 like Barnabas, Leviticus, Jerusalem, Rez, Petra, Darrell Mansfield, Daniel Band, Stryper, Bloodgood, Saint, Barren Cross and Messiah Prophet (there may be more but I can't think of them) deserves respect for blazing the trail.
Mellower/middle of the road to rock artists like Whiteheart, Larry Norman, Phil Keaggy, Degarmo and Key, Mylon Lefevre and other pioneering artists deserve respect too.
