This EP was released by Rottweiler earlier this month. Gotta say, I'm quite impressed, and I'm really glad this band is back! It's cool to see them, Elgibbor, and Sorrowstorm all return in the same year.

I plan on writing a review for this EP, but does anyone happen to have the lyrics? I haven't found them online yet, and I bought the digital release rather than the physical (I know, not very kvlt of me).

I have not listened to the E.P. yet except for one song.
Here is all I could find right now as far as lyrics:

The Weight of Ice And Fog

by Frost Like Ashes
Album: The Weight of Ice and Fog - Single

This wasteland, my home
This cold, my life
This dark lights my eyes
This stark wilderness, my comfort, my rest
This blindness the height of my sight

This world that surrounds
Like impenetrable cold
Crushing to dust, my bones
This surface of ice and frost a sharp contrast
To the fog within my soul

The fog inside my soul

Standing on the icy edge
Of where winter's cold is born
Watching the ice like soldiers marching past
Into fog of a war forlorn

How I long to be a part
Of their deathly peaceful march
With the cold wrapped around
And the fog calling on
To some nether ethereal song...

I long to dive beneath the ice. I,
I'd gaze above into the shimmering light
I turn my eyes up to the sky. I,
My body's froze
My blood feels black
My blood feels black
My blood feels black
My blood feels black

Whose womb gives birth to the ice and frost?

Raise Your fist
Lift Your voice
Crack the ice

Raise Your fist
Lift Your voice
Crack the ice

Raise Your fist
Lift Your voice
Crack the sky

Anchored to this land of ice and snow
Seems no escape
The crystalled air filling my lungs
Slows with each breath I take

No rest, no warmth, no power of will
To join the icy throng
Casting my eyes beyond the skies
Nothing but frost surrounds

Ice soldiers marching on

Where they drift I cannot go
For I can't move or breathe
My mind is numb, my hope has gone
The way of death's decay

The Fate's have left me lying here
My thread within their reach
But turn their backs, like God, His eyes
A wretched relic doomed to freeze
Dead inside but to never die

I long to dive beneath the ice. I,
I'd gaze above into the shimmering light
I turn my eyes up to the sky. I,
My body's froze
My blood feels black

I long to dive beneath the ice. I,
My blood feels black
I'd gaze above into the shimmering light
My blood feels black
I turn my eyes up to the sky. I,
My blood feels black
My body's froze

Matthew on Christian Headbangers Forum recently got the CD.  I asked him what his thoughts on the lyrics were and this was his response:

MetalPioneer wrote:...the new music is great. I listened to it for the first time on the way home from work. It's dark, punishing black metal and I feel the guitar is even better than on Tophet. The lyrics match with the music. It was difficult to read them, which is one gripe I have. They are small print and the font is not easy to decipher in the booklet. The content of the lyrics is all about the grim force of Nature and the struggles of a wandering, lost pilgrim. My interpretation is that it is a metaphor that follows the journey of a lost soul to redemption. He faces obstacles in the form of cold, fog, oceans, mountains, etc. At one point Nature is even personified as a force that seems to be attacking the wayfarer. The final song of the EP offers hope as the person finds love and acceptance. There's no explicit reference to God or Jesus, but the final stanza makes it very clear:

You found me
My dead heart
But you did not leave me
You've risen
With me like
A dizzying wave
You changed me
What I was
You revived my dark heart
This is a new world
This is a new heart
A new reality
The reality is You

I think that people who are not Christians would be able to listen to this album and maybe find some hope amidst darkness and suffering. It's not cheesy at all and fits well in the black metal subgenre. But it's definitely not a praise or worship album or anything like that. I hope that helps with your decision. I think that they're an awesome band and deserve the support!
