Lordchain "Thirty Years" compilation now available

I found this on another board, from December, am just going to copy this verbatim:

"Hey everyone! The new Lordchain album, Thirty Years, is now available on Bandcamp. There are only 50 CDs printed. If you want one, talk to Bill at Roxx. He'll be getting the discs this week. It will be available on all other streaming & download platforms by the end of the year.

The album has 20 songs. A brand new track recorded just for this project, 9 songs from previous releases & 10 demo & live tracks. We go all the way back to 1991. There aren't any songs from the praise EPs. They will get their own 'best of' in a year or two."

I ordered this from Roxx last week.  Tracking shows it somewhere in California right now.

What is your favorite LC release?

The debut sounds like the best to my ears so far.

I only have Civil War and The Shadow Project, but I’d give Civil War the nod out of those two. A great band overall.

Except for the 30 Years comp, I have everything they have released.  My favorites are Soulever and The Shadow Project.

Since you asked, I asked vocalist/drummer Kelly Matthews this on Facebook.  Here was his answer:


We were known as Eternity before. There was another band, southern gospel I think, with the same name & they asked us to change our name. They said there were people showing up to their concerts expecting to see us. There was also talk of a lawsuit if we didn't change it. We held a contest to rename the band. On the list of names was Lordchain. We liked it, so we informed the person who suggested it that he had won, but he said, "I never said that name." All of us were scratching our heads. After that, I started thinking about the other Christian bands we had been playing with & how there was no competition. We were all there to lift up the Lord; like we were linked together. Our first show as Lordchain was December 31, 1995. I don't look at it as two bands. We only changed the name out of necessity. It all worked out.
