Primal Fear - Metal Commando

The new album dropped yesterday. It’s solid. They’ve officially entered Hammerfall and AC/DC territory though: every album sounds like every other album. The last five or six albums have all sounded the same. I don’t mind when a band stays true to their sound, but I do like albums to have their own trademarks. However you could pluck a song from this new album and put it on any of their last several albums and it would fit right in and you’d never know the difference.

That being said, if you like Primal Fear, as I do, then you’re bound to enjoy the new album. There are indeed some choice cuts on it. Favorites for me include I Am Alive, Hear Me Calling, The Lost and the Forgotten, and Howl of the Banshee.

Love Primal Fear!!!  Haven't picked this up yet - but I might.

Seven Seals is the last album they tried to do different stuff, be more creative. Delivering the Black was the last I really checked out but I should listen to the new one.

Check out Rulebreaker too. That had two of PF's best ever songs:  Angels of Mercy and The End Is Near.

Checked out Rulebreaker and the songs you mention are good but overall, the album is paint by numbers. That's not a bad thing if you love the sound.
