A.N.D. - Get Real (Classic U.K. Christian Metal)
There are many bands that do not seem to be mentioned on the CMR board.
I thought I'd post one every so often to see if others know of the band, or just to introduce them to those who might be interested.
This band was from the U.K. and their name is A.N.D.
They put out 2 albums of NWOBHM-influenced heavy metal on Nu Lofe Records.
The 1st album ("100 Hours") was released in 1990 and the 2nd ("Get Real") in 1994. "Get Real" seems to be the best one. If interested, give a listen and see what you think.

I've listened to this a few times, pretty decent stuff that needs a remaster.

I was pleasantly surprised and thought this was not bad at all.
Based on the cover, the year (1994), I expected something sub-par.
But this was actually pretty enjoyable in spots. I agree though, it needs a remaster and a reissue.

I have both of their albums on CD. They are not easy to find. The first album is secular and the latter one is Christian.
Re: A.N.D. - Get Real (Classic U.K. Christian Metal)
I found out that I am still missing one album from their discography. Here is there corrected album listing:
100 Hours | Full-length | 1990 | |
Madmans Overture | Full-length | 1992 | 1 (95%) |
Get Real | Full-length | 1994 |

Depending on the religion, the upside down star, or pentagram, has been used by Wiccans, ancient Sumerians, Druids, African religions, as well as Christian in various times. For Christian symbolism, it represented the 5 wounds of Christ. The symbol is also part of the Moroccan flag and is also on a flag for a city in the Netherlands.
The lead singer/vocalist was Paul May. He is more recently known with his work Atkins/May Project. I would look him up and ask him about the use of the star. With the two large hands above the scene, this could be a description of what Paul's life was like with Satan still swinging at him and God's hand moving to shield him. That's what I get from it.

Just to add to what alldatndensum explained, I listened to "Get Real" a few nights ago and the lyrics are very solid.
I can't say for sure what the symbol is for, but I personally do not have an issue with it since I feel that the album in question is very grounded in the Christian faith.
However, do we know if that 2nd album "Madman's Overture" is a Christian release or not?
I did not realize there was another album in their catalog. There is almost no info on the band out there.
