New Saint Lead Singer (2018)...
Found this interview with Saint's Richard Lynch from May 16th, 2018... A new Saint album seems to be in the works for a release later this year with a new lead singer named Dave Nelson.

Ah bummer, I was really hoping that Josh would stick around for another album. I will be optimistically hopeful that the new singer will just kick ass.

I am one of the ones who liked the last new singer. It felt like Saint was getting their own sound and moving away from the Judas Priest sound.
Re: New Saint Lead Singer (2018)...
I saw that interview. In the begining he states that Josh is retired from singing.
Brian won't be singing, but I couldn't hear why.
Sadheaut let's hear how this new guy will sound.

I'm good as long as the guy is good.
I felt like Josh had lost some of the power in his voice and Desperate Night, though a great album, lacked some spark and energy. Josh is the voice of Saint but I was okay with the transition. I thought Brian added a lot of energy to Broad is the Gate and I really liked the album, it just didn't have enough tracks. As long as Dave Nelson comes off like Brian and add's life to the songs, I'm good.

To me Josh Kramer was Saint, but I’ll give it a chance.

I believe Richard said Brian had also moved away.

I agree: Saint, to me, was primarily the direction and bass work of Richard and the voice of Josh. I haven't even heard Broad is the Gate yet... just ordered it today as a matter of fact. Just when I finally come to terms with accepting a new Saint vocalist (other than Josh)... Bam! Yet another voice to warm up to. I, too, shall give it a chance. I'm actually quite proud of Richard & co. for keeping on keeping on throughout the decades.

Desperate Night is their weakest album since In the Battle, but I don't blame Josh vocals for it. The songs simply aren't as good as on the other albums.

Well, disappointed a bit but also looking forward to new music. I know last year they announced Josh was back in town and back in the fold. They even did a picture of all of them minus Jerry. Wonder if Jerry is still on board? I'll buy it, I've always liked Saint but just a bit disappointed Josh won't be there but I completely understand.

On a positive note, no plans for Richard singing, so far...

I'll have to go back and check the interview to see if Richard mentions Jerry within the crew. I believe he (Jerry) and Josh had a little kerfluffle awhile back, gauging from some YouTube banter I'd seen.

While I'm a big fan of Josh's commandeering, Halford-esque vocals, I've gotta give Richard credit for "The Key": I cracked open the Desperate Nights disc for the first time today... When I heard Richard singing lead on "The Key" it actually sounded good, I thought. It wasn't Josh, but Richard's timbre and delivery fit right in with the song... I thought it was a great track.
Re: New Saint Lead Singer (2018)...
I like Richard singing a few songs as well. Kind of reminds me of Gene Simmons. Ok for a few songs but not someone you wanna hear on the whole album. I agree, The Key is a great song.

Or when he does some back vocals such as We All Stand from the last album.

I have to agree. I didn't like his vocals with Saint as they just sounded too gruff to fit what they were doing.
Re: New Saint Lead Singer (2018)...
I will give the new vocalist a chance.
I will also miss Josh. Was great to meet him one year ago. I was front and center at probably one of his last shows (Metal Fest). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wd4kgELfqpg

Re: New Saint Lead Singer (2018)...
Reading through this thread reminded me that I should probably dig out Desperate Night again. I didn't really enjoy most of the more recent albums; not that they were bad by any means, I just didn't quite like them. I think the down-tuned guitars messed with me. They tuned back to more standard keys for Desperate Night, which made my strange ears happy. I liked the variety of styles on Desperate Night. I think I care a bit less for the end times themes, but the music is enjoyable.
Re: New Saint Lead Singer (2018)...
Yeah, Desperate Night reminds me a lot of Time's End. Especially the opening song "Crucified", it could have easily been on Time's End.
I am thinking Jerry is gone as he was not in the video posted above for the 2017 Metal Fest show. That's too bad, I always thought they sounded better with two guitarists.
Wish Mr. Lynch would pay us a visit he hasn't been around here in a long time and I'm sure he could answer a lot of our questions.

Looks like we have some song titles! And since one is called "Jerry new" looks like we will still have Jerry, that's good!

Ripper Owens should've been singing on this one!
