I do occasionally think about users who seem to have disappeared.
It makes me sad that I haven't heard from them in a long time.
Truthfully, I used to come here everyday. Sometimes for hours. Now I drop in once a month.
It makes me sad that there is less activity at all Christian forums and The Vault http://firestreamvault.com/index.php
It makes me sad that not many attend Christian metal festivals anymore.
But it makes me happy to reflect back on the glory days of all of the above.

Music_me was good to have around too (another joke!).

Driven mostly lurks. Honestly, I've mostly dropped out of the Christian rock/metal scene. I haven't found much lately that I enjoy listening to. I hang around CHM for the friendships I've made there, and still drop in here to see what goes on. With school (civil engineering), I don't have much time to spend on here; I spend it on YouTube instead. Very Happy

My only complaint is it smells funny over there. I can't quite pinpoint it but CHM has a really strange smell.

So was that newsletter a ploy to get people to check back in or was it just convenient timing?

Okay. I think I found the culprit. It looks like Forumotion implemented a "Popular Contents" email function. If you have it checked in your profile, you will get the email.

http://help.forumotion.com/t155037-new-newsletters-popular-contents

That image looks bad. Under "Preferences" is says "Allow newsletters "Popular contents" :"

Well, life has finally calmed down a bit...which means, unfortunately for you guys, that I'll be back around here on the board more often.

I had some super craziness at work, ended up doing 3 people's work for a couple of years, no time for social media.

My daughter was in the hospital for eight months in 2017 and we were told that she would not make it on three separate occasions.  During that time period, I stepped away from everything to focus on her and my two sons.  This was apart from my own moderate to severe health problems.

I slowly started to take on my duties back in November 2017 with Roxx Productions/Christian Metal Distro (Website), Youth Pastor (Awana and Sunday School) and Reanimated Radio (Co-Owner/Manager).

I also started live game streaming on Twitch in 2017 at https://www.twitch.tv/sirjahzeal as "SirJahzeal".  If you are interested, I live stream Sun/Mon/Tue/Thu 6-10pm Pacific each week.  I mostly play World of Warcraft and feature Christian Hard Rock and Metal music.  The live stream is positive, family friendly and encouraging.  I have live conversations with people in the chat during the streams, too!  I invite you to come check it out sometime!

I am still on the fence about bringing back "The Master's Metal".  It had an awesome response from 2009-2016, but, the 2017 episodes didn't do as well.  I kind of figured people don't listen to music podcasts as much anymore due to Spotify and whatnot.  I do miss doing the show.

I enjoyed the podcast you did and still listen to quite a few. I like them better than streaming because there is interaction between songs and interesting tidbits. But I'll admit I haven't listened to a music podcast in a while, mostly listen to talk podcasts (unsolved mysteries type stuff or wrestling).

Hope your daughter is doing better, I know it is terrifying to have a child in the hospital with something majorly wrong.

I've only started getting back into CMR recently. Part of the reason is how I go online. I used to do everything via desktop PC. Now I'm mostly on my phone. The phone is good for stuff like Facebook, but not so much this place. (Yeah I know there's a mobile version of the site, but I never cared for it).

Here it is early Saturday morning, The family hasn't stirred yet. What a perfect time to jump on CMR and catch up! Very Happy

I feel you on that. Metal Blessing Radio had a 10 year run and I had to just take a break this year because I've just found myself too busy. I guess I've stepped back and taken a more administrative role now. It does feel weird not doing a show.
