Are we going to do the Favorites for 2017???

No, I am not volunteering to do a spreadsheet and do the tallies.  I was just wondering if we were going to do our traditional favorites for 2017 where we list our top 10 and see what we as a whole have picked.

Anyone want to do it this year?

I need to go back and listen to that The Letter Black album again.  I did the Kickstarter and just wasn't impressed when the album finally came.  Of course, we that financed it were supposed to get the album before the release date, but someone fumbled.  I could get the CD at Lifeway a month before I got mine.  Several others had the same complaint, so it wasn't just a fluke with mine.  That may have left some bias towards the album.

If anyone is interested, I can work on a Google form to do a formal list for AOTY. I did it 2 years ago and had a few hundred votes, and shares by some bands on the list. If anyone would like me to do that, I can probably finish it tomorrow at my office. Only catch is getting an exhaustive list of bands.

You only have to list bands listed.  Then, to determine favorites, you give maybe ten points for a 1st place on down to 1 point for 10th place on a list.  Tallying the votes would then determine placement.  I would not go over the top 50.

You didnt do it last year and I was bummed, you definetly should do it this year!

Numbers 1-7 were a fairly close tie, Aldaria went from being a disappointment to pretty enjoyable.

I don't think that this thread is meant for self-promotion. I think it is just a way to say what your favorite listens that came out in 2017 were to get a collective picture of what we at the CMR loved.

Had I had Northern Lights Orchestra's new one when it came out in November to have more time to listen to it, it would have scored much higher as it is a classic 80's metal powerhouse that just happens to have a Christmas theme.
