new Believer EP

Im finding this a month after its release, but hopefully this means a new album is in the works. I could never get into the technical, thrash era of this band, but I definitely like the direction of their latest material after they came back from hiatus. 

Update: I visited their website, and apparently this will culminate with a new album this year.

Its good but far away from their excellent albums when they produced world class thrash metal in the late 80's and early 90's and had decent lyrics.

There was a previous thread on this, they will be releasing 2 songs like each quarter this year to culminate in a new album

They should have just changed their name.  There's 0 resemblance between the new stuff and the original albums.  The new stuff is fine, and I'd probably enjoy it if I had no idea it was Believer -- but when you put out something completely different than what I love you for, it's pretty much impossible for me to overcome that disappointment.  There's no advantage to keeping the same name -- just change it!  I'd be much more into a project advertised as "made up of former members of Believer."

I'm trying to think of an analogy, and it's like going to a restaurant and ordering pizza and they bring you a sandwich but insist on calling it pizza because they just like the name pizza and want to keep using it for any food they decide they want to serve.

The opening riff sounds almost like something from The Police.
