Relient K and Switchfoot
[rand][/rand][rand][/rand]
I saw these two bands last night at HOB. My daughter (22 now) got the tickets months ago.
Had a GREAT time!! As my daughter said "I grew up listening to them", meaning RK, and her and her brothers did. We have Many Great family memories of listening to RK when they were kids. She said "They played the songs I wanted to hear".
I also enjoyed Switchfoot. Like most bands, they were harder and heavier live, so I enjoyed that.
We took just a few photos, cause like me, she enjoys being in the moment at concerts. Not taking shots at peeps that enjoy filming and photos, just want to enjoy the live moment. Here's the only two pics I saved:
Sideways, Sorry....if you can help me turn them, thank you.

Yes, Switchfoot live is very good! I saw them about 3 years ago.
Never saw Relient K but would not turn down an opportunity to go.
These are fun concerts for the whole family!

Switchfoot has several really good songs. I love "Dark Horses". I've never had the chance to see them live, unfortunately.

Just me but I can't stand RK, too derivative if you ask me. I'd go see Switchfoot though.

Re: Relient K and Switchfoot
I liked some of Relient K's early material. Nowadays, though, they are just another keyboard driven pop band. Hawk Nelson and Fireflight have gone the same way. I don't care for the newer music of either one.
Re: Relient K and Switchfoot
They did "Sadie Hawkins Dance" and the kids, 20 somethings, went crazy!!..., which I understood. I remember my daughter making videos, with a VHS camera, and her girl friends doing that song....we talked about All those songs and re-lived a Lot of Great memories.
So, for me it was one of those priceless moments.
Btw, the last time her and I were at HOB we saw Stryper. So, she has been to plenty of "my" concerts, and she is Tons of fun, so, it was just as much fun to see her with one of her bands.
Also, her and I had a Fantastic time at a Fireflight concert. I told her that I hope there is a Jump5 reunion, cause I'd get us tickets in a heart-beat!! She laughed pretty hard at that.

RK was my wife's favourite band for a while (part of her puberty). I believe it was yesterday that she was surprised to hear that they were still active I think she was also more into the earlier stuff.

This is interesting, isn't it? I've noticed this too, most recently with Chevelle a couple of months ago in Cincinnati. They're already kind of heavy, but live they were absolutely punishing. I would say easily twice as heavy live than in studio.
