I'm not much into black metal but I have picked up a couple albums and they are very high quality musically.

Awesome band and awesome dudes. Seen them live multiple times, shared meals with them after gigs. CAN NOT say enough good things about them.
They are hard at work on album 4, recording is in process. They are one of those "I don't even need samples to know I'm getting this" bands for me.

Liked their first two. Holy Despair was too trebly and chimey for my ears. But they're a good band.

Love the band and love the sound. The subject matter of most of their songs seems to be a mystery too me, but they are well written though.

These guys are one of my favorite bands, would love to see them live. They have no problem holding their own in the extreme metal scene.

I'm a huge Black Metal fan, I literally just bought A Hill To Die Upon's album "Infinite Titanic Immortal" earlier today.

Honestly, until I got the lyric book Michael put out to explain the lyrics, their origins and meaning I never really got much out of the band lyrically. That helped dramatically.
Musically, they're amazing! Easily one of the best bands in the extreme scene. Someone else said it and I agree, they hold their own against anyone Christian or secular. Love everything they do. Their cover of Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down is one of my favorite songs to blast out of the car in the summer (got the t-shirt too.

Does anyone know what the "lyric book" is that the post above mentioned? I don't think he meant just the booklet that comes with the CD which has no explanations. The lyrics on the "Infinite Titanic Immortal" album are quite esoteric and I'd like to understand their intended meanings.

That was me actually. Yes. Michael put out a book of explanations around the time Holy Despair was released. It was called Ketuvium. They've been sold out but you can see what it was on their bandcamp page.

Are they still active? I have all their albums to date, but the last one was a bit of a departure from the original black/death style.
