One Bad Pig - I Love You To Death

So I finally got a chance to spin the new OBP record 'I Love You To Death' after getting it in the mail over the weekend.

All in all, not bad. It's not their best record, but it is a fun listen. The guest vocals from Les Carlsen on "Get Your Hands Dirty" are interesting The way he delivers the vocals makes his voice sound raw.

OBP has a new album??? Where have I been?

Yeah, they have a new album.  The do a very OBP cover of The 77's - The Lust the Flesh the Eyes and the Pride of Life.  For the first 10 seconds of Get Your Hands Dirty I thought "man, Kosher lost it", then I figured it out.

Overall, too soon to tell for me and by the time I have an opinion on it this thread will be old.

Yes, it's true. New album and some new members: Paul Roraback - drums (Grammatrain, Bloodgood, Paragon) and Lee Haley – guitar.

I don't know if you call Lee Haley "new". He played on the live Cornerstone 2000 album. But yeah he's never been on a OBP studio album until now.

The album is a fun spin. I'd like to post a link to some of the music but quite frankly the tracks on Soundcloud aren't the best tracks on the album. Being a fan of the original, the 77's cover is a bit tough to listen to for me.

I feel you.  The original is one of my favorite 77's songs.  To me the Pig version is different enough I don't mind it.

I have the download and hope to get a CD whenever CD Baby or Amazon have them in stock.

Saturday before heading to Kentucky for a wedding.  I wanted something new for the road.  I bought the download at CD Baby.

So...cdbaby is selling the album as a download...

Any kickstarter project backers get the download yet?  'Cause I'm still waiting.

CD Baby is selling it as a download and has a link for the CD when it is back in stock.

I love the new Pig album is so good and so funny..... i bought the album as a download, but i need the lyrics...

It's on Spotify and I'm loving it.

In case anyone cares:

I e-mailed the band about the downloads (for backers).  The following was the response:

"We are on the road, and we have sent out download cards to all the people who didn't pledge the CD. Did you receive your hardcopy CD? As soon as we get off the road within the next few days I will start issuing more download cards. U2 are touring schedule and not enough time he wanted to make sure soon as they were released we can get those to the non-CD pledging peoples at least they could hear the songs..."

FTR, I received my CD.  It looks like they just ran out of time sending out the downloads before they hit the road, but they are doing their best.

By the way, my daughter and wife like "Sunday Skool Rawk"

My wife liked it too and she couldn't stand the rest of the album.  LOL

I listened to it on Spotify.  I was never a fan back in the day -- thought they were a joke band -- but it wasn't bad at all.  The track "Footwashin" is awesome.
