Idle Cure Empty Idle Cure

Post by bjorn agin Fri May 27, 2016 3:36 pm

The other day I ran across some old live footage of Idle Cure on Facebook. (I don't see the videos on YouTube, but here's the link to the Facebook page)

https://www.facebook.com/idlecure/videos

This prompted me to dig up the album 2nd Avenue. Good stuff. For some reason I only have this album on tape and not CD. May have to rectify that some time in the future.

2nd Avenue and Tough Love were their best works, IMO. There was something about Steve Shannon's voice that reminded me of Paul Stanley.

I have all 5 of their CDS.  Inside out is the one I like the least. My favorite albums is a toss up between Tough Love and Second Avenue.  I think I'll go with Second Avenue as my favorite.  Their first and last CD is really good too. Their first CD us the hardest to find for a decent price - I got one fter several months of searching.

I think my favorite is their last album, Eclipse. But they didn't make a bad album. I love Idle Cure!

I only have 2nd Avenue (cassette) and Eclipse (CD).  Based on this thread I may have to track down Tough Love soon.

I have 3 of the albums on CD but have them all in MP3.  I even took the time to personally remaster them so that they sound even more amazing.

I loved all the albums but "Tough Love" is my favorite followed VERY closely by "Eclipse".  "Eclipse" added much better soloing on each song and that really forced that album to shine.

All in all, there ain't a bad album by these guys.  There was rumors a few years ago about a reunion and album, but sadly that never materialized.

I'm all for a reunion from these guys - that would be great. Come to think of it, there are parts of Second Avenue that remind me of KISS. Any one else realize this?

I have to completely agree with that.  I own and enjoy all 5 of their studio albums.

Self-titled has always been my favorite, but Tough Love is pretty good too.

The debut was their weakest IMHO but it's got some awesome tunes. The other 4 are among my favorite albums of all time and Idle Cure is in my top 5 favorite bands.

I have all albums on cassette lol. Spent 2 years recording converting cassettes to mp3 now just need to learn remastering. Chuck King the guitarist on demo started new band Shout with Ken Tamplin.
