Primal Fear has jumped the shark Empty Primal Fear has jumped the shark

I have long liked Primal Fear. My first exposure to them was New Religion which remains one of my favorite albums by them. Since then I've gotten most of their records. However, their last three albums have bored me. They all sound exactly the same. Some call that consistency; I call it boring. I listened again to Rulebreaker today. I didn't even finish it. Utterly boring.

Barring an injection of creativity, I am done with them. I'll pull out Nuclear Fire, Devil's Ground or New Religion when I want Primal Fear.

Heh, Primal Fear is one of those bands of which I only own one album and don't want any more, because I think it won't get any better Razz

I agree and I don't like the direction their lyrics have taken recently. Videos have been slowly getting more risque as well.

I like Primal Fear, one of those "you know what you'll get every time" bands. Sometimes monotony can be a good thing.

Jumping the shark is when you pull a ridiculous stunt to stay relevant.  PF is merely repeating the same pattern album-to-album.  Sorry there's no Fonzi involved with Scheepers and co.
