I guess my favorite song would be "Always There for You". But I love them all.

The Writings on The Wall

This is almost my favorite Stryper album. It is my favorite of the 80's/90's records. Come To The Everlife was abysmal, but otherwise, this is a great album. The title track, Always There For You, Keep The Fire Burning, It's Up 2 U ... all great songs. My second favorite, after the track above, would be The World of You And I. I love that song. Lonely is awesome! It's my favorite Stryper ballad.

Writing On The Wall for me. This is my least favorite of theirs. I prefer the Reborn version of the title track. Haven't listened to this one in a long time and the last time I did it hadn't aged very well with that production.

"The Writing's On the Wall" - Has infectious melodic lines, ripping riffs, killer soloing, clever harmony vocals, classic Stryper harmony lead playing, and the bottom-line call to repentance without sounding trite.

Would love it if Stryper would remaster or even redo the whole album by taking the POP out and put in a seriously heavy, crunchy METAL sound to this very good record!!!   lol!

Easily their worst album imo. I'm surprised that some feel it's their best - I love the diversity of opinions!

As for the best song on it - I'd say The Writings On The Wall with a nod to Its Up 2 U

I would have to agree. I've had it since it came out (as with all stryper releases) and I just listened to a bunch of it and I honestly don't even remember the record. Apparently I didn't listen to it much... contrast with Yellow... and Soldiers... I wore those out at the time.

I've always thought this album was underrated. A lot of fans don't like it. For me it was AWESOME from start to finish! The only album Stryper ever released that was a TRUE MASTERPIECE (not one filler song). To Hell with the Devil is a close second, but there was one filler song on that one (All of Me).

Great album! It's perhaps my favorite Stryper album.

It's hard to choose between In God We Trust, The Writings on the Wall, Lonely and The Reign. They all are some of my all time heavy metal tracks ever made. Lonely is also one of my favorite ballads ever made.

I get massive goosebumps from all of those songs.

I've always thought it was a very underrated song! I know they made a video of it - and it became a single and all. But it seems like there was a lot of hate against it at the time (at least in my friend's circles). Also - nowadays when I talk to anyone about this album - and this song in particular - there is a lot of hate. Not sure why. "In God We Trust" was basically "To Hell with the Devil" part 2. No one ever complains about "THWTD".

I remember that Always There For You was released as a single before the album dropped (B side In God We Trust) and I listened to it over and over.

That would be my favourite track followed by The Writings on the Wall.

Overall I think the songs are great but the album was overproduced.

The album certainly did have an 'over-produced' quality to it. I guess that is why so many don't like it.

Almost gave it an AOR feel.

And because I happen to really like slickly produced AOR - that probably explains my love for In God We Trust.

But yeah - it will probably always be my favorite Stryper album.

The album certainly did have an 'over-produced' quality to it.

alot of albums by the time this was released had a slick over-produced sound.. I think that is partly what killed the 80s glam metal...it was moving away from metal to a more AOR thing...
