I think early 90s Metallica was HUGE for the "frat boys" Nickleback caters to.  I'm not surprised at all, really......

More than that, Chad Kroeger is a far better guitar player than most haters will give credit for......and Sad but True is one of Metallica's easier bits to play, in all honesty.

If it were Trapped Under Ice or Master of Puppets, THEN you could color me surprised, but not so much at this.  To me, I almost expect something like this popping up......just because I detest the band's music doesn't mean they don't fly the same colors as a lot of the rest of us that came of age in Metallica's golden era......

Not bad. Chad Kroger does a better James Hetfield than Hetfield at this point. 

Though I might be one of the few that doesn't hate Nickelback. I don't love them or anything, but they are a decent pop group that writes decent pop songs and there's no shame in that - generic and disposable they may be. Though sometimes their lyrics are pretty stupid.
