Favorite recent Stryper original album...
As you all may know, since Stryper got back together they have released 4 full length original albums: Reborn, Murder By Pride, No More Hell to Pay and Fallen. Many here in this forum have mentioned their favorites and the majority have positive remarks about the 2 latest ones. My focus are the 3 latest ones: Murder By Pride, No More Hell To Pay and Fallen.
My favorites on Murder By Pride are:
4 Leaf Clover
Peace of Mind
The Plan
Murder by Pride
I Believe
Love is Why
Everything
My Love (I'll Always Show)
My Favorites on No More Hell to Pay are:
Revelation
No More Hell to Pay
Jesus is Just Alright
Legacy
Marching Into Battle
Sticks and Stones
Water Into Wine
Sympathy
Renewed
I haven't heard all of Fallen yet where I don't have the CD yet. I suspect there will be around 8-10 songs that will stand out for me. With their earlier albums like Soldiers and to Hell with the Devil, there are usually around 7-9 songs that I really like. Basically, it seems like Murder By Pride isn't getting the credit or recognition as the other albums before and after it. Songs like 4 Leaf Clover, Murder By Pride, Everything and My Love I'll Always show are classic Stryper. The song I Believe has that Two Bodies One Mind One Soul type of melody. Also, the last 3 albums has that 12 song track with the 1 cover, even though Murder has more ballady/mid tempo songs. I do like Reborn but not as much as their other albums - I prefer the classic sounding Stryper. Any thoughts?

Re: Favorite recent Stryper original album...
It's easier to list the songs I don't like! LOL
The back half of Murder by Pride is underrated in my opinion. However, 4 Leaf Clover and Peace of Mind drive me nuts. I hate those songs. The title track is a monster!
There's lots to like on No More Hell To Pay. However, I don't really care for the cover tune. Likewise, Marching into Battle is too herky-jerky. I also don't care for Sticks and Stones. But pretty much the rest of that album is really good to great.
On Fallen, there's really only one track I don't like which is Heaven. I hate anybody saying they've been "to hell and back", but I doubly hate it when a Christian uses that expression. We know what hell is and how horrific that reality will be for those who reject Christ. We should never, even as an off-hand expression, say we've been to hell and back. No, Mike, you haven't. You have had some hard times, brutally difficult times, but nothing that compares to hell. But musically, I just don't like that song. It reminds me of Holding On from THWTD - I also hate that song. They feel really similar. But other than this one track, I think Fallen smokes from start to finish.

Umm, yea, it's an expression, and one that it totally appropriate at times...
