I had "cool points"? Wow! I'll have to work at building those back up.Metal15 wrote:Oh! your cool points went down by a million...
lol naw, jk. That's cool. I actually wanted/tried to learn how at one point too.
Sewing. That's something else I'd like to learn how to do.Singwhatyoucan'tsay wrote:I tried knitting years aog and it didn't work out too well. I can sew, however--there's nothing like being able to point to your clothing and say "I made this/I got it from a thrift store and altered it."
I'm surprised how many times I've had to explain that when I make jewlery I'm usually just pairing the charms and chains so they match.
About 18 years ago, I had an acquaintance named Brad Click. He had a sweet last name and he knew it too. So, he went to thrift stores, bought shirts of all varieties in good condition, embroidered his last name over the left breast and then sold them in local coffee shops/variety stores for like 20 or 25 dollars. People bought them!

Those are nice looking caps. I crochet chemo caps. If your wife or daughter is interested in making chemo caps, have them check out this website. www.knotsoflove.org.music___me wrote:My wife and oldest daughter with some beanies they crocheted.

I like a lot of different types...
the heaviest I have gotten into is Black Sabbath (early), Metallica (old Ride The Lightning days), DIO (Holy Diver era), some Demon Hunter, Godsmack, Iron Maiden...
If this tells you anything...the only song I really like by Project86 is Long Way Down.

I kinda liked that...they are different than the growling Goliath I see on YouTube? or did they change their styles?

They only had one album… "The Gate" is the one.
Re: Picture Yourself
David Benson sounds similar to Ozzy-era Black Sabbath. You might also try Place of Skulls and Veni Domine.

I always stayed away from David Benson because it always seems like no one wants his cds (they are always in the clearance section)..but just listened to Hellfire on YouTube..MAN..That particualr song had Ozzy/Sabbath ALL OVER IT....
Is all his stuff like that?
--- I just bought a signed copy of Premonition Of Doom for 7.50 from eBay ---

Re: Picture Yourself
dBeality is a bit different . . . not as DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM-y. But his other albums are definitely like that. Plus, he and Victor Griffin (Place of Skulls) are working on a new album together.

Here are some of my favorites:
Christian:
Forsaken - Dominaeon (epic doom)
My Silent Wake - Shadow Of Sorrow (doom/death)
Paramaecium - Within The Ancient Forest (doom/death)
Place Of Skulls - The Black Is Never Far (traditional doom)
Under The Sun (traditional doom)
Secular (but clean):
Ahab - The Call Of The Wretched Sea (funeral doom)
Asunder - A Clarion Call (funeral doom)
The Gault - Even As All Before us (traditional-ish doom)
Morgion - Solinari (doom/death, one of my top favorite albums ever!)
40 Watt Sun - The Inside Room (melodic doom)

No problem! And if you like one style more than another, let me know and I would be glad to recommend more of that style!

Re: Picture Yourself
This is mainly secular music. My favorite DOOOOOOOOOM bands are
Ava Inferi (Gothic/doom with female vocals)
Pantokrator (death/doom)
Estatic Fear (folk/symphonic/doom)
Virgin Black (early albums are symphonic-ish, Fortisimo is death/doom)
Old Theatre of Tragety (death/doom with "beauty and the beast" vocals)
Uaral (folk/doom)
Seventh Angel (thrash/death/doom)
Type O Negative (Gothic/doom)
Empryium (folk/doom)
Shroud of Bereavement (death/doom)
I think that's it, lol. That list ended up being longer that I thought it was.
