Are there any fans of this genre here?

I know it's very slow and soft music, so many fans of Metal sometimes aren't into it.

I've noticed that sometimes fans of Black Metal like it though. Perhaps it's because of it's coldness. Anyway, what are some of your favorite Ambient artists?

My all time favorite is Steve Roach (who is also considered a forefather of the genre).

Haven't heard either of those, but I've heard of Steve Roach. I'm pretty new to the genre, but so far I do like Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, and Klaus Schulze. It's great music for homework.

Dude, I know that most fans of Ambient would agree with me in that Steve Roach's album, "Mystic Chords and Sacred Spaces" is a masterpiece! That's the album that turned me into a major Ambient fan. Well, that and a few other Steve Roach albums. Steve Roach is a genius! For sure the best place to start with the Ambient genre IMHO.

Just FYI. That album, "Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces" is extremely LONG! It's only one album but it's a quadruple album! Heheh! Not a double, but a quadruple! The entire album is about 5 hours long! But it's 5 hours of pure BLISS!!!
