Amorphis

Anyone else like them? Murdock enjoys their earlier albums like Tales of the Thousand Lakes, but also some of the more recent albums like Skyforger.

I really like their tunes and have seen them live, but I'm not down with some of the Pagan lyrics...

I like pretty much everything they do.  They have a couple of songs that I don't care for the lyrics on but for the most part they lyrics come from Finnish Legends so of course it is to be expected for them to have pagan lyrics but I really like them.  I wish there was a Christian band that sounded like them.  And I mean pretty much Identical to them.

Their music's legit, but the vocalist should be replaced.  He is just terrible.  His voice does not flow well with the music at all.

Amorphis is one of my favorite bands. My favorites are Silent Waters, Elegy, Tales from a Thousand Lakes, Eclipse and Skyforger.

Schaliach was a christian band that had a similar style to the Tales... album:
 
The song Poczekalnia by Illuminandi musically reminds me of Amorphis as well, especially the end of the song:

Which one They have had two.  Pasi Koskinen was on the first album through Far From The Sun and Tomi Joutsen has been the vocalist since.

 Actually, there were 3. Tomi Koivusaari did vox for their first 2 albums, before Koskinen took over on Elegy.

I think Tomi Joutsen is their best vocalist so far. Especially live, he just rules.

I freaking love them! One of my fav bands ever along side Kings X I like the old stuff and the new stuff great great band.
