Re: If You Had To......... The Showdown
This is the hardest yet for me
All 4 albums are masterful for their genre
and are so uniquely different
A Chorus:
Has 2 of my fave Showdown songs ever: A Monument Encased In Ash, and From The Mouth Of Gath Comes Terror. I love every song on here, never skip any. Plus Iscariot is beast
Temptation:
This album was my childhood (I still am one) but i mean like at 6 and 7 years old when this came out I played it to death, this is one of the few albums I have memorized and could sing any song if you asked me. Standout tracks are: All of them
Back Breaker:
This is probably my least played album out of the 4, but in no way is it any less good. This is a brutal Panteraesk onslaught. Standout tracks: The first 5, and the 2 ballads. I remember when I was playing Temptation and my dad told me he got a new CD. We went out to the car to listen and I was like " this is the same band?"
Blood In The Gears:
My 2nd most played album, every song is awesome, each has a awesome riff. This album is a cross between Back Breaker and Temptation in style, just like Back Breaker was a cross between A Chorus and Temptation.
Overall: I gotta go with Temptation, not just nostalgia, cause every album has some nostalgia around it. But to me its a album that will never happen again, unlike the others where they eventually can be overplayed or I skip a couple. I can never see my self getting tired of Temptation or skipping a song.

Re: If You Had To......... The Showdown
Easily "Back Breaker" for me.
I didn't like them when I first heard "ACOO". Then I came across "Temptation" and played that a lot. I was anticipating "Back Breaker" by the time it came out. I played that thing non-stop. To me it is perfect. The sound, mix, and themes. "BITG" was worth it just for "A Man Named Hell", but I felt the second half was weak. Since then I have come to really appreciate "ACOO" and think the toughest part for me, is the production is a little weak. I have a live album they did, and those old songs are great on there, as the sound is better imo.

I also have that live album [EP] and really enjoy it.
They also had a EP between Temptation and Back Breaker
called Feel Like Hell

Temptation easily. It adds a southern metal feel that is lacking in Christian metal.

Easy one for me as "Temptation" was the only album of theirs I really liked.

Temptation easily for me, though I enjoy all of their albums to differing degrees. There's just something about the hooks and charm of TCMW that puts it over the top for me. Awesome album.

EASILY Temptation. EASILY. Maybe not as heavy as the rest of the catalog, but far superior songwriting. Just has a special "something" to it....

Blood In The Gears. I like all of four, but that one feels like the fullest realization of their sound.

That's me as well. It is the only one that I own. I don't like the vocal style of the others.
Re: If You Had To......... The Showdown
I voted Chorus. Never really liked the rest of their albums.

Re: If You Had To......... The Showdown
Back Breaker all the way, A Chorus of Obliteration is my second choice.
Re: If You Had To......... The Showdown
Love them all, and LOVE this band. Would be so excited to have new music from them. But, I vote for "Temptation", simply for the catchy, memorable songs, which happen to be great live.

I see that two members are currently listed as members of Demon Hunter. Is anyone else doing anything now?
