What does this say about us?

I'm a member of swapacd.com and swapadvd.com and I found out about both of them through alldat (thanks!)

The goal is to post CDs and DVDs you don't want and people can request them. When you send them one, you get a credit that you can then use to order a CD from any other member if it is available for trading.

If a CD available, and you order it, the member who has the CD then has to ship it. However, there are times where they can't ship it for various reasons or they no longer have the CD and forgot to take it down from the trade list. In such a case, the transaction is canceled and my credit is refunded to me.

I've been swapping CDs and DVDs for months now and guess what? 99% of the transactions that are canceled are in the Christian metal department. I have no problems getting pop, alternative, audiobooks or any other genre.

What does this say about our community? Anything? Is it just one huge coincidence or are we all a really disorganized bunch in our daily lives?

I think it means that Christian - Metal is an oxymoron.

I've not even seen metal on there. Most of the stuff I've gotten has been for my wife (though I did catch a great Johhny Cash disc a few days ago, as well as Beloved's first EP).

I think it's more that there's so few people that listen to that, and so few bands, and people are probably like me and post at multiple places (I also use TitleTrader). I mean, if you go see how many copies there are of any Stryper disc, it's a zero. But they have like 238 people that listed Alanis Morrisette's first disc.

So far, I've gotten Stryper "Reborn", Tourniquet "Crawl to China", Lengsel "Solace" and "The Kiss, The Hope", a black metal compilation, Mortal "Godspeed", Facedown Fest 2004, and more.

It's there, you just have to be patient and keep the wishlist updated.

Wow... I only have one trade point right now, that's my other issue... I only browse twice a week or so.

Yeah, basically, I put myself in line for pretty much every Christian metal album that I want and don't own.
