Mysterious Things
Are there any mystery type things you are interested in?
I admit....I like Bigfoot stuff.
The newer Finding Bigfoot stuff on TV is dumb, but the 70's documentaries and movies are awesome.
Here's a good one.
This one talks about other mysterious monsters too (Loch Ness Monster)

Re: Mysterious Things
I've always enjoyed UFO and alien stuff even though it completely terrifies me because of all these alien invasion movies, lol.

Alien stuff can be pretty interesting at times.
Have you seen the Alien Interview documentary?
*NOTE: Just because I find something to be interesting doesn't necessarily mean I believe it.

Re: Mysterious Things
My wife and I enjoy watching all kinds of these things. She really enjoys Finding Bigfoot (and is convinced Bobo is a rare hairless 'squatch). We both watch Ancient Aliens, but mostly to laugh at the "logic" and "rational thought" that leads them to their conclusions. Oh, and Giorgio's hair. I like a good ghost program. Not so much the recreations as the guys stumbling around in the dark looking for evidence things.

Re: Mysterious Things
I do watch Finding Bigfoot sometimes. It gets old really fast, though. It seems like the same ol' stuff on every single episode.
I just heard a squatch over there!
Todd Standing's Bigfoot stuff seems a little more interesting to me. I'd like to see more of his stuff.
And yeah....that guys hair is...
Well....it's something...

Re: Mysterious Things
Not really. I generally see these things as a distraction that have no real basis in fact. Honestly, I kind of lump these type of things in the same realm as " pro " wrestling. It might be entertaining to get caught up in the possibility of some of this stuff being real though. But for me, critical thinking and my world view doesn't allow for much credence in aliens, bigfoot, etc.

Seriously though...
The thread is about anything that one may find mysterious. It's not just about Bigfoot, aliens, etc.
Instead of trying to berate the interests of other people, why not post something that is "mysterious" to you?

Sorry...just giving my honest opinion to the subject in question. I guess I may be to cynical about stuff like this ?
Mysterious ? Other than the supernatural things in scripture...not really.

That's a good "mysterious" type film.
I like the second Boggy Creek film too. The MST3K version is great!
Here's another good one...
I wish I could find the version from Wolfman Mac's Chiller Drive-In. It was the best!

There is nothing really "in question" here.
This is simply a thread for people to post "mysterious" things that they are interested in.
I mentioned bigfoot stuff...and someone else mentioned alien stuff. Ghost stuff was mentioned too.
Nothing is "in question" here.
sentient 6 wrote:I guess I may be to cynical about stuff like this ?
Possibly. It sure is a mystery...isn't it?
Perhaps you find it questionable why one would even find the things mentioned here to be interesting. Perhaps you are assuming that just because a person finds something to be interesting, that they believe in it. Perhaps you are laughing at people here while thinking that you are smarter than them.
If that's case, perhaps you are not the critical thinker that you are trying to come across as being.
This certainly seems to be a possibility.

The supernatural things in scripture is simply God's nature.
No mystery about that.

..um...there are certain implications for Christians if aliens are real or if there is a hominid called " big foot " running around. And that's why I said my world view is in conflict with putting too much credence in stuff like this...and I said " for me. " If there are implications for the people who believe in or are interested in such things from my comment then so be it I guess. But I didn't go into detail because of the line I would be crossing here. So I guess just leave it at that.
..here is some more " mysterious " stuff that people believe, but I also have specific reasons for doubting that these types of visions occur.

Not really anymore. I used to watch 'In Search Of' back in the day.Mortal wrote:Are there any mystery type things you are interested in?
If you take it with levity, these things can be fun though.

The lady of Guadalupe was a stroke of genius. She was instrumental in hedging int he the diverse tribes giving them a single European god to worship in an Indian form to whom they could relate.sentient 6 wrote:..here is some more " mysterious " stuff that people believe, but I also have specific reasons for doubting that these types of visions occur.

If they were real, there would be certain implications for everyone. Not just Christians.

Well..
Good for you.
But this thread isn't about whether or not people believe certain things.
It's simply about things that people find interesting.
Can't people find something to be interesting without believing in it?....or as you say, putting too much credence in it?
Or is it not possible because of...
...implications?
