06 Ford Escape 4WD Hybrid

Looking at one w/1300,000 for $5,800 OTD...should I be?

Known for catastrophic engine failures near 100k miles, and problems with the engine shutting off randomly while driving. Ford recently recalled 70k Escapes and Mercury Mariners for an overheating issue, and the battery for the electric motor is nearing the end of it's life cycle and warranty period (10 year/150k) Both of those are ~$5k repairs...

Got him an 01 Kia Sportage w/75,000 for $3,000, pretty solid...
