GWAR
Anyone listen to GWAR?
I like some GWAR....even though they are over the top at times.
Here's some cool GWAR tunes.

Re: GWAR
GWAR has always been more of a long running performance art thing to me. If you just "listen" to GWAR, you're missing better than half of what GWAR is about. There's very little of their stuff that I have in any of my playlists......but the live show.....THAT is something else altogether.....

"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here."

Re: GWAR
As an artist myself, I agree with you there.
GWAR is more than just the music.
I'll listen to a few GWAR tunes here and there sometimes, but I'm more a fan of the art...the costumes...the GWAR lore.
GWAR is like a real life heavy metal sci-fi cartoon.

Re: GWAR
I love GWAR! I've seen them four times I believe. Their shows are probably the most fun I've ever had at concerts. In college, I took a few of my roommates who had never been to a metal concert before to GWAR and they loved it! I have a few before/after pictures of us on facebook haha: in all-white clothes before and completely drenched in "blood" and slime afterwards. They are absolutely hilarious.

Re: GWAR
^ So you were grinded up and turned into GWAR dog food?
Cool!
I've never seen GWAR live in concert. Which is weird because I'm from Richmond, VA. too. They used to play downtown alot.
Here's a cool video of Gor-Gor live.
Gor-Gor comes out and battles against Oderus Urungus.
The camera angles on this video are excellent!
WARNING: Oderus drops the F bomb.

One thing that has always turned me off with GWAR is that there seemed to some sexual underpinnings to what they do in addition to the gore. I had their first album and it seemed to have strong sexual undertones, and I seem to remember hearing something about a large phalic alien thing that was used in their shows. Now I realize that they were more strong on " lore " and " gore " stuff, but I remember them being some kind of alien " perverts " as part of their shtick as well.
..maybe someone here that is more into them can elborate on that. Or maybe I am remembering them in the wrong light.

By human standards I guess they could be considered perverts.
But they're not human

Re: GWAR
I've heard LORDI before. I haven't heard alot of their stuff, but what I have heard sounds pretty good.
GWAR has a more punk/thrash sound.

This is the first GWAR tune that caught my attention back in the day. Here's a good live version...
