No. They were around a while back. One of Bill Menchens many bands.
Re: Final Axe
Love the Final Axe and Titanic albums put out by Bill Menchen! I wish he'd do more with both lineups of Titanic.
Re: Final Axe
They were around in the late '80s at first, after Menchen's Redeemer project, and then they morphed into Rev Seven. Bill Menchen and Keith Miles re-recorded both the first album (Beyond Hell's Gate) and the never-finished second one (The Axe Of The Apostles) in the mid 2000s. Beyond Hell's Gate was edited and re-released in 2010, IIRC. Not to mention Titanic, which came after Rev Seven and also featured Keith Miles aka Simon Tyler on vocals. They recorded two albums with Simon in 1996 and 2000, which were both edited and re-released in 2010 alongside Beyond Hell's Gate. (Titanic also had another album, which was sort of a solo project, with Kevin DuBrow on vocals).
I like Final Axe/Titanic. Used to love them, but I overplayed them and now they're almost loathsome to me. Not especially creative for the most part, but heavy when heavy is needed.

I like the music too. The guitar sounds like it was recorded direct to board.

Hopefully, you were kidding about Kevin DuBrow being on vocals on the third Titanic album. The singer's name was David St. Andrew. He did sound a lot like Kevin, though. This is, by far, my favorite Bill Menchen release followed closely by the first Menchen disc, then probably the ORIGINAL versions of Rev Seven which I wish they had remastered and released instead of completely redoing and even ruining a couple of songs.
Re: Final Axe
I wasn't kidding, I was simply mistaken.
I have the original tape of Titanic - Maiden Voyage, which is basically the same album with the differences being the drums and a few guitar/bass parts here and there. I also have the original tape of Rev Seven - The Unveiling, which is awesome except for a slightly thin recording.

I agree with the thin recording sound on the original Rev Seven album. I think a proper remaster would have done the trick for that. If not, adding another rhythm guitar overdub and maybe a bass overdub could have done it. Other than that, it was perfect!
Re: Final Axe
All Rev Seven albums were re-issued on CD in 2012

Always liked them, even back in the Holy Right days. My favorite tune is "Soldier of Compromise" - really like Robert Sweet's work on that track, and the album for that matter. Solid stuff.

We know! Those are in the coolection. However, the songs from their debut cassette only debut were re-recorded completely and both music and lyrics were changed in places.
