Paramaecium: Exhumed of the Earth or Within the Ancient Forest?

Since Kerrick wants to DOOOOOOOOOOOOMify things around here, which of these two albums do you prefer? I’m going with Within the Ancient Forest.

I'll take back *SOME* of the bad things I've said about Pethead for bringing more doooooom to the forum.

Ancient Forest for me and it's not even close.

Exhumed was groundbreaking in Christian music but AF is my favorite.

That's a tough call for me. They both are equals really. But if someone held a gun to my head, I'd have to go with exhumed.

Dangit, Pÿlon's cover of South Of Heaven isn't on youtube for me to post here.  But a Christian doom metal cover of Slayer... that doesn't get any more "Kerrick" than that (apparently)!  

I hold both albums in very high regard,  but if I have to choose, I'd probably go with Ancient Forest.

^This is true.  If Iron Maiden were to record a Christian doom metal album, I'd probably just immediately transcend to the next level of existence or something.

I love Exhumed. I have heard Ancient Forest yet.

Exhumed of the Earth for Removed of the Grave which is probably the best doom track ever made.

I prefer Ancient Forest because I like the greater variety of instrumentation, vocal styles, etc.

Exhumed is great but I sometimes wonder if it's one of those albums that everybody picks because you're supposed to (if you catch my drift).

I like them equally and think they are both top-shelf doom albums up there with the best albums produced by the Peaceville trinity of doom. But as I mentioned earlier, if someone put a gun to my head, which usually inspires quick decision making, the words "Exhumed from the Earth" would most likely shoot out of my mouth in great haste.

I'm not sure if you are aware Steven, but it's a throw back to a time when it was viewed as a cardinal sin to use keyboards (the musical instrument) on a metal album - particularly if that metal album happened to be in the realms of thrash and Death. often bands would make a point of it inside the inlay of a cassette or CD "There are no keyboards used anywhere on this album"
