Sure, just that general 80's commercial hard rock/heavy metal sound. Cinderella, Ratt, Dokken, Holy Soldier, Rage of Angels etc. etc. Does not need to technically be glam in appearance. Not interested in "that band is not really glam" argument. Just talking about the general sound really.Constantine wrote:Define "glam" if you would, thanks.

Top Ten Glam (pop) metal bands:
1. Dokken
2. Ratt
3. Stryper
4. Winger
5. Lion
6. Crue
7. XYZ
8. Faster Pussycat
9. Bonfire
10. Southgang
White Lion and Extreme are a little advanced in the musical department to be on the list and both are East Coast bands anyway (not that its a total requirement).

Looks like I started a low interest topic.
Lion and XYZ I am not familiar with. I will be looking into these. Thanks, Superjuice.

I've never dug into glam metal, but I think much of Tublatanka's stuff would qualify and I do really enjoy them. Lyrics are all in Slovak though.

I'll name a few albums that are some favorites and that I think are very good, not arranged in any particular order.
Obviously I can't support the lyrical content or worldview of the secular bands, but I can appreciate the sound, style, song-writing, and level of musicianship.
1. Holy Soldier - self-titled
2. Dokken - Tooth & Nail
3. Guardian - First Watch
4. Tesla - Mechanical Resonance
5. Frehley's Comet - self-titled
6. Fear Not - self-titled (1st album)
7. Enuff Znuff - Strength
8. XYZ - either one of the 1st 2 albums
9. Killer Dwarfs - Stand Tall
10. Icon - self-titled or Night Of The Crime
11. David Lee Roth - Eat 'Em & Smile
12. Ratt - Out Of The Cellar
13. Halloween - Don't Metal With Evil
14. Leatherwolf - self-titled (1987) or Street Ready
15. Cry Wolf - Crunch
16. Zion - Thunder From The Mountain
17. Angelica - Walkin' In Faith
18. The Brave - Battle Cries or Evie's Little Garden
19. Odin - Don't Take No For An Answer E.P.
20. Europe - Wings Of Tomorrow

Almost every topic not related to thrash is a low interest topic in this side of the realm. This is more action than usual BTW. I've started threads with zer0 response.Bronze Age wrote:Looks like I started a low interest topic.

I know. I’m not a thrash or black fan, and it seems the CMR is being taken over those genres!

I think Kerrick secretly deletes replies on non-thrash threads, to keep the forum focused on his favorite genre

I agree, it is very frustrating. Especially over the past 8-12 months or so.Superjuice wrote:

The non-metal section is an even harder place to get responses these days.

It looks like he's doing a cover of the song from Pod People.
