Making A Battle Jacket
I'm thinking about making a battle jacket and want to see if anyone on here has made one before and has any tips. I plan on making the back patch ...And Justice For All. I'm also going to include as many Christian patches as I can (Deliverance, Theocracy, Tourniquet etc.)

I thought about going all out but it'll be cheaper and easier to do a more simple jacket. 4 or 5 patches on the front and the back patch.

Re: Making A Battle Jacket
Fun! Since I am not so good with sewing, I had other folks sew my patches on for me (including my mom, wife, friend's mom, and the lady at the local sewing shop haha). You might consider doing the same. I used a Dickie's jacket which I think looks pretty good, though jean jackets are more traditional. For some of my patches (namely the three on the bottom), I had their edges folded over to prevent fraying.
It's funny you made this thread, because literally last night my wife sewed on my new Hafgua patch. There was no good spot for it on the back, so to the front it went!

^^I’m guessing you have another one just for Slayer.

That's awesome. I know I want Metallica, Tourniquet, Deliverance, Vengeance Rising (if they exist), and Theocracy patches. For Metallica I'll prob just have the back patch. Iron Maiden, X-Sinner, and Pantera would be cool too. I would get Megadeth but my dad doesn't like me listening to them because of their name so, that one will have to wait till I move out lol.Kerrick wrote:Fun! Nice seeing the Blood Thirsty patch, as they don't get much attention hereKerrick wrote:Fun! I’m surprised your dad is ok with you listening to Pantera over Megadeth. No references to death in the name, but much more sketchy lyrics overall afaikChristian Thrash Rules wrote:That's awesome. I get the feeling his dad is judging an somewhat face-value assumptionsseth wrote:I’m surprised your dad is ok with you listening to Pantera over Megadeth. No references to death in the name, but much more sketchy lyrics overall afaik
Re: Making A Battle Jacket
Yeah, Pantera is pretty rough lyrically, more so than Deth overall. But, as crucifyd said above, good on CTR for obeying his dad.

I don't listen to them a whole lot. Just love their sound. Chained is a good Christian band that sounds pretty dang similar.seth wrote:I’m surprised your dad is ok with you listening to Pantera over Megadeth. Re: Making A Battle Jacket
I only listen to the clean versions. I avoid cussing and overall bad lyrics (Death, Ghost, Mayhem, Slayer etc.) as much as I can. I love that Pantera and SOAD released clean versions of all their songs. Wish more bands did that.Pethead wrote:Yeah, Pantera is pretty rough lyrically, more so than Deth overall. I didn't think Death's lyrics were that bad aside from the first album?Christian Thrash Rules wrote:I only listen to the clean versions. I usually judge more on individual songs than the band itself, which is why I'll listen to certain Slayer songs, but if I think a band is genuinely Satanic as opposed to pretending to be for shock value I'll avoid all their stuff, because I won't trust them even if it sounds like a good message.
