Help needed

Hey, I'm gonna be kind of obscure here because this was recent enough that I'm not comfortable with sharing details, but basically a while back I did something messed up that no body knew about... I decided last night that I had to tell the person who it had to do with... To make a long story short I'm gonna be (dye to my own choice) staying home from church for a while and I had to leave a story in my life that has caused me a lot of trouble unresolved, and I'm feeling unmotivated and mad at myself... I need to do this because it was kind of changing who I was for the worst, but this has put me in a tough place rn.

You did right to confess and try to make things right with the person, and God will forgive you whenever the person does or not. I’d encourage you to keep going to church though, especially in a time like this you need spiritual “nourishment”

That's why Im gonna try going to another youth group for right now. It's just that the person is this girl I was getting unhealthily obsessed with and I'm hoping that, like with the last two girls I liked, it'll kind of wear off of I don't see her for a while.

That’s probably a good idea. And yeah I know the feeling, as a teenager used to be way too preoccupied with girls (but was too awkward to actually talk to them meaningfully lol), it gets better as you get older and aren’t around that particular girl anymore

We've got some wise folks on here with sound advice!  I concur with what's already been said.  It's a tough phase to be in: to be yearning for the emotional intimacy with another person as God created and overwhelmed with feelings (and hormones, ha) - but the circumstances (age, life-stage, etc.) aren't right yet.  I remember that time well and have sympathy for anyone in it!  But as was said above, in many ways things do get easier though.  And when it finally is the right time with the right gal, you'll appreciate her all the more.

Yeah, that's one thing I have to remind myself... When something finally goes right that could easily end up being the best day of my life, but that might not be the case if I was successful the first time lol

^For sure.  In my mid-20s I dated quite a few gals and always hoped each would be "the one."  (I was searching for a wife and not just dating for fun.)  As each relationship fizzled out, I became more and more pessimistic and apathetic towards it all.  But then my now-wife waltzed in and that changed everything.  Looking back, I am sooooooooooo glad I didn't marry anyone else.  I'm sure those other ladies are great wives and moms to their respective families now and all that, but it was most definitely worth waiting until the time was right.  It's hard to see when you're in the thick of it all, but I suspect in time you too will look back and be very grateful things didn't happen as you wanted them to in the moment.  Hang in there!  You've got plenty of time to find the right one.  In the meantime, take care to guard who and how you share your emotional (and physical!) intimacy with once you do start dating/courting/whatever.    And it's incredibly important to be "equally yoked" - not just that you're both believers but also on some of the secondary issues too.  A husband and wife who can't agree on which denomination of church to attend are going to be in for a lifetime of struggle.  Don't compromise!  You've got a good head on your shoulders and I have no doubt you'll be alright. 

^Thanks. That's also the main reason I'm picky. There's many girls I wouldn't mind marrying, but that would mean I don't get to marry one of those girls who are special. And I don't wanna date someone I'm not planning I marrying

Yep, that's one of my favorite ways to deal with problems! I don't have any planned directly about this necessarily, but I have some about this topic that definitely draw from this experience. You might have noticed that I recommended similar in Scott's prayer thread.

Just a small update... I am currently over the afore mentioned girl and, despite seeing her pretty much every week, it doesn't affect me at all. I actually got over it a while ago but I forgot about the fact that I had posted it here and should probably write this lol
