Rank The Narnia Albums
The title says it all! This past year I started getting into Narnia and have two of their albums (Long Live The King and Ghost Town) and am trying to decide which album(s) to get next...

this is a Christian DM classic to me. From what I remember they were pretty young at the time but wow

Maybe he was telling Kerrick to put down the Narnia and toss on some death metal.

I can't rank the ones since the return of Christian, don't know them quite like the back of my hand yet. As for the first run, all top shelf! I loved this band upon first listen way back in 98! I have "The Great Fall" in my all time top ten, and "Enter the Gate" is right on it's heels...

Re: Rank The Narnia Albums
I just remember when I was younger I thought this band was the coolest thing because of their name (I love the Narnia books).
Re: Rank The Narnia Albums
I wasn't into the more straight ahead neoclassical style of the first two when they came out and subsequently ignored them until Course of a Generation. I purchased the reunion self-titled after and then filled all the gaps slowly.
Everything from Course to present has a more beefy, fluid sound. I think From Darkness to Light is their best of the last four. All four are really solid, with German Pascal's vocals on Course being different but excellent.
Going back to the original run, The Great Fall is their heaviest, darkest album and my sure favorite from that era. People complain about the production, which isn't as clean but it isn't bad. If they brought it to today's standard it would be my favorite. Enter the Gate and Desert Land are the next two original run albums I dig. The first two are good for what they are but are not personal favorites.
I'd go:
From Darkness to Light
The Great Fall
Ghost Town
Enter the Gate
Narnia
Course of a Generation
Desert Land
Long Live the King
Awakening

Re: Rank The Narnia Albums
Thanks! Well, I ended up ordering The Great Fall and Desert Land. I plan on picking 'em all up eventually, but these seemed a bit harder to come across and I found 'em new for a decent price, so I jumped on it. They're also spread out on your list: it's always a drag when you pick up the band's best album first and the rest are letdowns haha.

Desert Land came after the tour with Dio, you can hear the influences on that album, three songs are very Dioseque!

I've only listened Long Live The King. I'm kinda stuck in that, because it's so good. It happens to me quite often. I find a great album and I'm scared to try the rest of the discography
