Which one?
Secular vs Christian thrash, round 3: black sheep albums
Since the ideal band won't have bad albums, which of these hated albums is the best? Some bands like VR and SA don't have any particular hated albums so I just went with the one that seems the least loved
I'm sure all already know which one I'm picking. St. Anger.
jk, it's Assimilation. But everyone knew I would pick that.

I’m gonna go Assimilation, as well, but I do like Destruction Comes, Diabous in Musica, and Crawl to China.

Dust of Years is the only one on here I listen to regularly, some really good unique sounding songs on that album (like Abelard and Heloise). And I honestly never cared too much for the other Seventh Angel albums, from what I’ve heard of them

I honestly don't understand why people have such dislike for "Transhuman."
Musically I think it's a brilliant album. I don't consider it "thrash" though.
I cannot vouch for the lyrics, but that is par for the course with most albums.

I like it, but I do agree that the other Believer albums are better.Constantine wrote:I honestly don't understand why people have such dislike for "Transhuman."

Btw, This series will have 5 rounds. At the end I will compile all the scores and see who wins.

The worst has to be either St. Anger or Stomp 442. Sweet moons of Jupiter, are they terrible.

That's the thing with albums that sound different, they might be the most popular among fans, but people who aren't really into the band might really like that album.seth wrote:Dust of Years is the only one on here I listen to regularly, some really good unique sounding songs on that album (like Abelard and Heloise). Hence why I used St. Anger as my joke answer.Pethead wrote:The worst has to be either St. Anger or Stomp 442. Sweet moons of Jupiter, are they terrible.

Is Stomp 442 a rap-rock album? Because the first impression of Anthrax I had was through a fairly terrible rap-rock song by them I heard on the radioPethead wrote:The worst has to be either St. Anger or Stomp 442. Sweet moons of Jupiter, are they terrible.

Not really, it’s just bad. You probably heard “I’m the Man” which was their collaboration with Public Enemy.

I just found the song I had heard, it’s actually Bring the Noise (also a collab with Public Enemy)Pethead wrote:Not really, it’s just bad. You probably heard “I’m the Man” which was their collaboration with Public Enemy.

Demonic. Don't know why it's on here, it was well liked and a great album.

Tbh I couldn't find much for what Testament's black sheep was, but both the rankings I found online had it at the bottom so I picked it for the list. Would you say a different Testament album is more hated?Black Rider wrote:Demonic. Don't know why it's on here, it was well liked and a great album.

Demonic is the least liked from everything I’ve seen.

Stomp 442 makes all these other albums sound like masterpieces

^^Not wrong. St. Anger could be salvaged with radical enough surgery because it has actual ideas. Stomp is beyond anyone’s help.

Btw, Assimilation is no longer my #2 overall album (though it is #3.) Master of Puppets has moved in between it and Justice.
Re: Secular vs Christian thrash, round 3: black sheep albums
After seeing you hype Assimilation so much I decided to check it out as I had never gotten around to doing so before. Looks like Jimmy went full industrial with this one, not really my thing, but Steven if you enjoy this album so much you’d probably love Jimmy’s other project Fearful Symmetry, which sounds quite similar

I've heard of it before, but I've never really checked it out. I will now though. Did you listen to the whole thing, because if you did which was your favorite? Mine is The Learned Man.seth wrote:After seeing you hype Assimilation so much I decided to check it out as I had never gotten around to doing so before. I didn’t listen to the whole thing since i’m not really big on that style (industrial), but of the songs I listened to The Limitless Light was okStevenCressler wrote:I've heard of it before, but I've never really checked it out.
