Free Gift - Symphonic Thrash album

I am working on a album called Free Gift, primarliy thrash metal (though some of the choruses or just vocals in general might be a little slower/softer) made of seven original compositions and three metal versions of classic hymns.

Tracklist:

1. Free Gift (about salvation, and it being a choice and not what you deserve)
2. Oh, the Deep, Deep, Love of Jesus (One of my favorite hymns, great melody and I think my singing voice goes well with it)
3. Right Here (one of the more straightforward worship songs of the original lyrics, basically just a reminder that God is always there)
4. Compromise (addressing some of the many compromises so many Christians make)
5. How Great Thou Art (I think this was the first hymn I've memorized)
6. Dark of the Night (Based on a song I wrote when I was 8 or 9, about God helping you through hard times (which was literally everything I wrote back then because I was depressed))
7. Out of Nothing (How do you know God is real? Here's the answer in this song)
8. One True God (Okay, God's real, but how do you know it's Jesus and not one of the many other Gods out there? Well, again, here's the answer in this song)
9. Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel (Even thought it's a Christmas advent song, I think it works outside of that because it also works for the second advent we are going through right now)
10. Heaven (The least aggressive of the original compositions, the title is pretty self-explanatory)

Never traversed this part of the realm before. Used to play in bands and write music it's so much fun, many good times through music. All the best with your music and hope to hear some when it's ready. CHeers

Thanks! I am currently working on a metal cover of the poem Caged Bird as a kind of a demo track, and I need it lol. It definitely isn't easy... but I'm making good progress, and am glad I gave myself a practice song before jumping into the actual album.

I'm switching Emmanuel for Trust and Obey because I'm putting Emmanuel on my Christmas EP.

Finished the first draft of the title track. I'll do some revisions, but I want to finish the first draft of each song first. My mom is great for critiques as she isn't into metal, but she can see objective quality in songs well, she says the song has good bones, just needs some revision, and I agree with that.

Finished Compromise, and made the album cover. Pretty amature photoshop, but it gets the job done. The file's too big to post here right now though.

Btw, I decided to take How Great Thou Art, as while I love the hymn, it was not translating to metal well unlike OtDDLoJ and TaO.

Dark of the Night is done. Just got the last four left, and they're probably the four best (aside from maybe the title track)

I had no idea it was all done on keyboard. It’s not what I expected… but keep doing your thing! 

It sounds like a classic Nintendo video game meets aggressive dark-wave.

Aside from the keyboard part, what did you think of it? (As in the riffs/lyrics etc.) It's my favorite of the six I've made so far, though I could see the album closer beating it.

I’ll need to sit down when I’m at home and listen closer. I’m at work listening on my iPhone. 

From what I gather, you have some good ideas with the composition. I can’t comment on the vocals because they are done in a talking voice.
