Unblack Archives - Can you help?

So if anyone doesn't know I run Unblack Archives, an encyclopedic sort of site focused on the unblack scene and related stuff. There are a lot of blanks I can't fill in, and I'm wondering if anyone here could help. Really, you could go to the bottom of almost any page and there'll be a list of stuff I'm missing at the bottom (+"similar artists" but that's not relevant) but I'll highlight some in this thread.

The first one is, I'm trying to get a list put together of times where a band (heavy, thrash, death, you name it) dipped their toes into "unblack" material. It may sound strange but it's actually pretty common! (Deuteronomium, Kohllapse, etc). Can you guys name any bands/songs where this would apply?

This is an awesome project. I should get a scanner at some point so that I can give you high-quality scans of the inserts of some of the rarer things I have. If I find the time, I'll poke around and see what I can contribute.

I know this is a stretch and really mentioning it to see if anyone else thinks so but POst momentary affliction by Mort i reckon has moments of black metal elements in it.

Actually that album has a number of metal elements in it yet is consistent and nothing feels out of place, unlike later material (IMO).

Thoughts on adding this band to the site? Personally, I would never add a band with lyrics like these, but I try to get input from others in the Church before making decisions.

Yeah some of those lyrics are pretty bad. Some are also pretty racist as well (I know the word “racist” gets thrown around so much today it’s pretty much lost meaning, but this is what I’m talking about: “Exterminate all vermin And erect a cross at last! Pagan gods of lower races Kiss our heels before the fall Hail Christ upon the throne! We will cull the impure mob! ”). I don’t know for sure, but this band seems almost like they’re just adopting Christian-based violent imagery because they think it’s cool, kind of in the way bands like Powerwolf do

Pretty sure they are a nazi band. They have nazi imagery in their logo. They also call one of their instruments, "Jews Harp on Goat Urine."

Yikes.

Yeah that would make sense with the racist lyrics I mentioned. Ironic, since most nazi bands are pro-pagan and vehemently anti-Christian

As for the instrument though, there is an actual instrument called a Jews harp, and one of their songs is called Goat Urine. So I assume that’s what they mean there

I don't actually see nazi imagery. The skull they use is a generic stock image from the internet (yes, I actually searched lol).

Seth is right about the jew harp thing though. It's a musical instrument used on their song called "Goat Urine". (I find it telling, that this band's lyrics and song titles like "Goat Urine" give me pause, since I myself have a pretty bad case of sailor mouth... If even someone like me finds it odd, I suspect something is wrong.)

I think they are trying to be edgy. Their skull has a striking alikeness to a totenkopf.

The votes are in, I gave it a full day. Across everywhere I asked, there were one or two "yes"es, a few "not sure"s, but the answer was overwhelmingly "no".
They're on the [blacklist] now.

There's a [very long list] of bands that I'm not sure about. Most, I'm not sure if they're actually Christian or not. (A few, I know are Christian but I don't know what style they play.)

Does anyone recognize any names on the list / can help?

I understand most of these are really obscure. Doesn't hurt to ask, though.

Regarding Anerhoth and Askespråk, I wonder if Nordic Mission would know. They used to sell those bands' releases.

I'm really curious about Seven Chains.  According to the Metal Archives, they're from the same area I live.  I had messaged them a year or so ago on FB about their lyrical themes and faith, but never got a response.

I might be misremembering actually. It could have been Metal Helm from whom I bought the Anerhoth demo.

Eh, I already sent Nordic Mission a message. We'll see. I feel like I "could" message Jason from MetalHelm but he seems busy with his new thing and I hate to bother.
