It's fascinating to me how polarizing (pun fully intended) his vocals on that one are.

I think the high pitched falsetto vocals fit perfectly on fast thrash metal. The closest thing I’ve heard go that vocal style is on 80’s style hair metal and occasionally power metal, but other than TQT never with thrashCrimsonWarrior wrote:seth wrote:Stop the Bleeding

Max Cavalera
Kurt Bachman
Roger Martinez
Ian Arkley had a great voice for his style of thrash too
thrash bands like overkill or exodus etc never understood how people can enjoy that nasally hello-my-name-is-gonzo style of vocal that is so prevalent in Thrash.

I honestly don’t know how anyone can enjoy Roger on HS or OD. I only tolerate it because the music is good.Dustofyears wrote:For thrash I'm gunna say

I like your other picks, though.

Polarizing vox for sure. I get why people don't like it. I'm deranged I guess. What about DC? I love his vox on that album the most probably.Pethead wrote:I honestly don’t know how anyone can enjoy Roger on HS or OD. I don’t mind his vocals on DC and RutE at all. Those were actually the first VR albums I heard.Dustofyears wrote:Polarizing vox for sure. I get why people don't like it. I'm deranged I guess. 1. Chuck Billy
2. James Hetfield
3. Phil Anselmo
Matt Barlow, Warrel Dane - as well as the underrated Tommy Victor and Ron Rinehart - all deserve an honorable mention.

Come to think of it, probably the closest non-TQT song I’ve heard to Guy’s work on StB is Painkiller by Judas Priestseth wrote:I think the high pitched falsetto vocals fit perfectly on fast thrash metal.
