Re: Flood (band) update?
To get those three play together(?) is a wonderful miracle of its own, but if they manage to get any other former Tourniquet members on board even for a second it would be amazing. Obviously it would be great to have Aaron with them, but maybe Macias and Mendez too. But seriously anyone would be a second miracle! Steve Andino, Vince Dennis, Mark Lewis, hey I'd love to see Erik Jan James even though he was only on photos! Or Michael Russo who was briefly a member and played a solo or two in Vanishing Lessons. How about DEVINO!
I've been watching the new Helloween live shows with Kai Hansen, Michael Kiske and Andi Deris sharing the mic and it has been absolutely magical. I'd love to see Luke, Guy and Gary share the mic.

Re: Flood (band) update?
Here is what he posted since the group is private:
**Huge Announcement**
I’m excited to announce that members of the classic Tourniquet lineup are reuniting (as Stop The Bleeding - The Tourniquet Tribute) and have enlisted me to play drums for them at Immortal Christian Rock Festival in Ohio next July!
Many of you who know me well are probably thinking, “Yeah, that tracks.”
For those of you who don’t know about my obsession with classic Christian metal, all you need to know is that since the early 90s, Tourniquet has been my favorite band of all time. Their music and message have challenged and encouraged me as a musician AND as a Christian. They are probably the biggest reason I grew my hair out, aspired to be a metal drummer and started Haste The Day with my brother.
To think that I will be performing some of the most meaningful songs from my Christian metal past is mind blowing and I can’t wait to take the stage!
This post also comes with some sadness, as my involvement comes on the heels of the passing of Tourniquet’s incredible drummer Ted Kirkpatrick, last August. Ted and I connected many years ago and at first, exchanged music via snail mail, then moved our communication to email and Facebook. I felt honored that he took an interest in me as a musician considering the massive respect I had for him and his drumming. If you read my tribute to him after his passing, you know how much he meant to me.
I’ll never fill Ted’s shoes, but I hope to honor Ted’s memory and do his music justice.

"Metalheads, FLOOD is planning to launch its 2nd record within [60] days! Rumors there are 10 songs, no instrumentals. It could be Guy Ritter’s greatest performance."

I’m happy and appreciative that Flood exists… but Gary has a thing for digital sounds. At least Ted always insisted on his drums being natural acoustic. Especially the snare. He always had a nice crisp tone.

I still prefer the natural acoustics that Ted K and Dave Lombardo are known for… but the Vinnie Paul sound is also great.
*note*
I can tell that Ted used triggers on some of his drums, but they were still mostly acoustic oriented. Vinnie Paul was a bit the other way around.

My ideal drums are on: Seasons in the Abyss and Psycho Surgery. Tight and crisp (with a touch of reverb).

Yeah, in the liner notes on Gary's Cripple Need Cane album The Big Dance from 2005 it's specifically mentioned that no acoustic drums were used to record the album. I remember in some interview from around that time he was excited about digital drums.
The drum sound in the debut Flood album really was the only negative part about it. The drumming itself was great but the drums just sounded too clinical. The vocals and guitars were amazing, and the songs were almost all top notch, and even the worst song in the album was still good. I could hear the HUNGER in the solos, riffs and both Guy's and Gary's vocal delivery. I'm enough ok with the drum sounds (and they really sound better the louder you listen), so if Gary decides to stick with the sound of the debut, I'm fine with that. But I would hope there would be some improvement on that. If the guitars, the compositions and the vocals have the same hunger it will be an excellent album.

Gary Lenaire Head
Gary is cool! If he chooses to use the same triggered/digital drums on the next album, it will still be great! He’s the artist and we’re going along for the ride.
