Morty. Living Sacrifice’s debut is the only one of theirs that can come close to the best Morty albums, even though no LS albums are bad. I will say that Morty has much lower lows than LS.

I guess, overall, I'm more of a LS fan. But not necessarily b/c one band is better than the other. I like LS's genre more.

Just Steve Rowe’s voice alone is enough for me to prefer Mort over LS.

Sure I do love the debut LS “Slayer clone” album… but they have been a bit disappointing overall. I still like them though.

That said, I know Mort has been spotty in their discography too. But I like a lot more albums from Mort.

Never really cared for his voice. And he changed it so many times throughout the years.

But then, I seem to like all the "dud" vocals like VR and LS's Nonexistent.

Both LS and Mortification debuts blew my mind and are still favorites today. Mort followed up with Scrolls, whereas LS did not deliver what I was wishing for but went another route. Mortification went downhill after the third to the point I only care for a handful of songs in that catalogue after PMA, LS kind of got their stuff together and delivered some pretty good (but also some bland) albums in the metalcore genre that I spin on a regular basis. Not decided yet what that means for the poll…

My vote--the single vote for Living Sacrifice--is based on the first 3 albums of both bands. B/c I haven't cared for most of the albums by either band after that point (I don't care for metalcore either), I wouldn't be able to vote intelligently.

Scrolls and Nonexistent are lightening in a bottle captured in time and never to be seen again. Pure death metal masterpieces. For that reason I like them equally for producing two exceptional albums.

Mortification by a wide margin.

On a total good song score (some found on otherwise goofy albums) Morty is my most prolific producer of good songs. They have the biggest presence on my mp3 player.

Aside from one Stryper song, Mortification's Hammer of God was my introduction to Christian metal. I have a great respect for Steve Rowe and the band for all they've accomplished. But these days, I feel like most of the stuff after their first three albums is pretty cheesy. And what I've heard of their first three albums, while more appealing, doesn't stick with me after hearing it. But death metal isn't really my thing most of the time.

I was introduced to Living Sacrifice through the "Reject" music video, and I've thoroughly enjoyed everything from Reborn on. Even now that I'm generally bored with metalcore, Living Sacrifice is at the top of my exceptions list. Bruce's vocals are iconic, and there's just something about their style that sets them far and above just plain metalcore for me. I have their first, self-titled album but haven't gotten through it yet, and their second and third albums are nearly unlistenable for me because of the vocals. But everything after that was very prevalent in my listening experience growing up. So that's why I voted for Living Sacrifice.

I think Mort deserves better representation than Dennis Rodman. Do you really dislike them that much?
