Favorite Bon Jovi Album?
We’ll do this because we can. (Sorry).
My favorite has always been New Jersey, but I enjoy everything up through Keep the Faith. I’d probably rank those:
New Jersey
Keep the Faith
7800 Fahrenheit
Slippery When Wet
Bon Jovi
What say you?

Re: Favorite Bon Jovi Album?
Slippery When Wet was my first entry into the world of rock so I will forever have a soft spot for it, and it is a great album too. Objectively, New Jersey might be better still when it comes to the overall product. One might argue it‘s almost too „good“ tho, as in “polished, overproduced, geared to mass appeal“. Both those are top notch and benchmark records for stadium hard rock / hair metal. Can‘t go wrong with Livin On A Prayer, You Give Love A Bad Name, Bad Medicine, and of course Dead Or Alive.
Keep The Faith is just radio top 40 hard rock to me which doesn‘t mean it was necessarily bad. Man, even my wedding ballad was Always lol.
Anyway, I am grateful to Jon and Richie for introducing me to the glamorous world of hair metal so I will ALWAYS (see what I did there) hold a special place in my heart.
(Obviously, once I discovered Stryper, I realised they were the true kings of hair metal.)

Re: Favorite Bon Jovi Album?
At one time I would have gone with "Slippery" but for some reason half of it seems a little too cringy to me nowadays. Did see them live back in the day with Skid Row opening.
New Jersey
7800 F
Slippery When Wet
Bon Jovi
I could never get myself to listen to Keep The Faith (maybe I should give it a try). And I wouldn't go see them live now if you paid me to (Bon Jovi's voice is ruined).

I saw that tour also and realized Bach was kind of an idiot. Thought he was tough because he swore a lot.

When I hear “Runaway” on the radio, I crank it up!
I love me some 80’s rock!
Even “Working for the Weekend” by Loverboy (although I cringe at their band name).

Re: Favorite Bon Jovi Album?
My wife owns the Bon Jovi CDs and has most of them, around 13. I like much of the early music up to 1994 and after that its the odd song here and there. Keep the Faith us their best album. The title track is not but most of the other songs are good. Dry County is a very goid song and remind me of Welcome to Despair by Siloam.
I bought 7800 the other day new and previewed the songs and its ok. I know the singles from years ago In and Out of Love and Tokyo Road. Slippery and New Jersey are next after Faith. I bought Faith and have A Nice Day for $2 in very good to near mint condition several months ago.
I read somewhere that Jon recently became a Christian. Is there any truth to this?

Re: Favorite Bon Jovi Album?
Back around 1980 something, a friend of mine won a local teenage bodybuilding competition. While posing for his routine during the competition, he played "Shot Through The Heart” from the S/T album. It’s one of my favorite songs from Bon Jovi’s catalogue.
Reading this thread brought back some old memories from that first album.
Still a good album to this day.
