Dear, Friends - It's with a heavy heart we share that we lost our beloved, Michael Bloodgood at 8:15am Central this morning. After a gallant fight that began with a severe hemorrhagic stroke in February 2022 he's gone home to be with our Heavenly Father.


We'll cherish Michael's generous spirit, off-beat sense of humor, and musical soul. His devotion to the Lord and sharing of the Gospel through his ministry as a pastor and musician touched countless lives. Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this unimaginable time. He is survived by his cherished wife of 46 years, Marilyn, three sons, and two grandchildren.

Just heard about this from some people who know him....it's very sad because last we heard, he was on the road to recovery.

Sad news... thank you for the years of great music Micheal. Rest In peace.

I’m stunned. I’m so glad we got that last concert from the band before he suffered the stroke. I feel so bad for the band. I know he and Les were really close.

For the BLOODGOOD fans who are captivated by the music, the sound, and the power that came from the message about life everlasting through Christ we want to say, “Thank you”! 

Many have been asking about the future of BLOODGOOD and the new music that was being developed.

Now that Michael is home, BLOODGOOD as a band has come to an end. No new music will be written. No BLOODGOOD live concerts will take place. However, there are a few new songs that Michael wrote and performed and some ‘legacy’ material that may be developed at a future date and released to you.

For me, the ministry of BLOODGOOD and the personal call on my life remain unchanged, so I will continue to record new music. The message is the same and it is urgent. Life is short! 

Paul Jackson and I, the team that brought you BLOODGOOD classics such as “Crucify”, “Demon on the Run”, “Seven”, “Top of the Mountain”, “Pray” and “Lamb of God” to name a few, will continue to write new material and play some live shows. We have already been working on an album that will hopefully be released later this year. The first single is scheduled for streaming on Aug 12.

All of us who are moved by the life of Michael Bloodgood can truly say that the light of Jesus was bright in him. As his best friend and partner, I will do my best to honor him, but more importantly, to proclaim the truth about Jesus Christ, the savior of the world, a message Michael was so passionate about.

So many great memories and music. Saw them headline 3 festivals. It was a pleasure to meet Michael.

I was simply holding my water bottle in my elbow on that hot day.

You know, Bloodgood was my favorite band during a long time.
I thought they sounded even better than stryper or any other band I loved.
So, you can tell by these words how I fell about his passing. But I confess it was much more hurtful to me when he got the stroke and how hard it looked when I was reading through the social medias.
And to be honest, It felt like his closest friend and family didn't have great expectations of recovery since them. Maybe the doctors might have told them he wouldn't make.
