They pop up on Spotify lists and I'll listen, they're not bad but not something I'd invest in.

I've never been able to get into them.  When they first came out I had that 1st album and they were being raved about, but I just couldn't connect to it.

I got into them when At the Gate of Sethu came out. Then I went back and nabbed In Their Darkened Shrines and Those Whom the Gods Detest. Also grabbed What Should Not Be Unearthed when it came out. Love it all.

What’s funny is that I’m not usually big on tech/brutal death, since I prefer old-school death. But the little Egyptian touches and other aspects of Nile’s music sets them apart and just grabs me.

Annihilation of the Wicked is a killer album. I recommend that album to anyone who is having a hard time getting into Nile. It's much less ponderous than much of their other stuff. I saw them on that tour and it ruled.
