Habitance - In the Remains of Structure
Really good thrash that's next to impossible to find.
Thrashy with a lot of clean guitar interludes and instrumental tracks. For this reason, they remind me most of Pestilence - Testimony of the Ancients.
The band is surprisingly tight for a first time indie release but I did notice some sloppy, noisy guitar solos which wouldn't have been too much of a problem if they hadn't been over clean guitar sections.
Great stuff! I need to start my own label one day so I can reissue stuff like this.

Yeah I stumbled upon one on Amazon oddly enough. They seem to pop up every now and then. I tried to reach out to the band via their Youtube account but never heard anything.

Your 3 favorite songs on this album? I'd have to go back and compare. I thought you gave me your list for Consecrator.

Oh, sorry. Yeah, I think I pretty much agree with those picks. I wouldn't choose one of the instrumentals personally though they were interesting.
Re: Habitance - In the Remains of Structure
No worries and all is forgiven as long as the new album comes out tomorrow!
Yeah the instrumentals are cool but not their best. I also cant decide why on the youtube vids the vocals are alot cleaner sounding vs the CD. Cant tell which I like better though.

I sense a lot of Metallica influence in this music.

I could see that. Ever since I got the disc I've been trying to pinpoint if they have a signature sound or if you can hear other influences

Always loved The Ritual. An underrated Testament album for me. Electric Crown was a great opener.average joe wrote:

Musically I really like that but on the first song the vocals kind of bug me. On the cover of Electric Crown they seem better but can't tell if it's because it's so muddy sounding. Love that song though, I agree The Ritual is a great album.
