She Who Must Be Obeyed told me about this song but I hadn't heard it till now.

I'm glad too.   The pro-authoritarian Left are STILL whining about this though, and about his stance.    
I see so many hateful comments about him since then. 

They can't handle any difference of opinion, or another perspective.

Van Morrison was pretty outspoken too. They tried to cancel him.

The truth hurts. 

Bless Eric Clapton for standing up despite the backlash and personal attacks. 

They can’t erase his contributions to rock music (as long as his fans remember him). I like that he is willing to lose his celebrity status to do the right thing.

Always been a fan of Clapton and gained so much more respect for him for standing up against the madness.
