Re: Prog Metal Recommendations
Digging back in my cd collection I found Torman Maxt, an indi prog band formed by three brothers puts out a pretty polished sound on a low budget. Really good for a mid-90's production before everything went digital:
Note: This is probably their heaviest song.
They followed this release up with another full album called The Foolishness of God and two albums based on the book of Job, which came out better than I thought it could as I'm not that big a' fan of concept albums since I believe the text can overshadow the musical flow, but there are strong melodies on The Problem of Pain part 2:
My only complaint about the band is they play acoustic about 1/2 the time.

Thanks for the info SJ. I've been meaning to check out Torman Maxt for a long time. Apparently they shared a vocalist with Damien Thorne, a cool USPM band that I enjoy.

Re: Prog Metal Recommendations
I was going to say Torman Maxt.
I actually never heard the albums, but I remember the ads in Heaven’s Metal described them as prog rock. And I think the cover art on the first album is cool.

Re: Prog Metal Recommendations
I found KDB3. Somtimes on the more "Yes" side of prog but has heavier songs too.Very straight forward Christian lyrics to.

Orphyn: Has a mix of everything on the harder side but label themselves as progressive metal:
