What are you listening to now (non-metal)

I saw The Call play an acoustic show at a famous venue in Minneapolis called 1st Avenue.   It was the late Nineties and the crowd was pretty sparse.  I had no idea what the band looked like and for some reason I thought the guy that played "I Still Believe" in the movie The Lost Boys originally did the song, so I thought the singer would look like him.  Turns out that's a totally different guy with a well-crafted physique and giant mullet.  They looked quite the opposite.  Imagine my surprise when I saw this rollie-pollie looking guy with a scraggly beard sitting in a chair who never touched a weight in his life leading the band.  

The singer looked quite haggard and drugged through the gutter.  He looked like he faced a battle or ten...  It was an okay show and I recognized some of the tunes.  To my date's surprise, he dropped an f-bomb at the end of the show and she gave me a hard stare, since I told her they were Christians.  Turns out the singer would die about 8-10 years later.  I could tell he wasn't in good health at the show.
