New Wytch Hazel Song - Archangel

Gosh the end of the month cant come soon enough!

So far this is my favorite of the 3 singles they have released.

I really hope people are hearing these guys, such good quality but it's not the flavor of the moment.

Excellent song...only 2 more weeks until the album releases.

Definitely nothing for the mainstream but Wytch Hazel are getting more and more popular in the metal / hard rock underground. The new album received 10 out of 10 points in Germany's "Deaf Forever" Magazine and it's no. 1 in their monthly poll. There's an interview in the very same magazine in which they also talk about the spiritual aspects of some songs extensively. Proofs that a lot of metal heads are much more open minded as it sometimes seems and that a Christian label doesn't have to be a big obstacle to get respected for the quality of the music.
(BTW: In the same issue Reverorum ib Malacht received 10 points for their new album. So even catholic ambient black metal isn't strange enough for their taste. )

Oh man I really dig this.  Really looking forward to the release of this album.  I suspect it will be one of my favorites for 2020.

I don't know why I ignored this band for their first two album, maybe because of the album art. The first one looked really low quality and the second gave me a doom metal impression. But these singles sound really really good.

I'm the same.  The first two albums just didn't seem to connect with me, but all three songs I've heard from their new album are brilliant.

I suggest you two revisit the first two albums!     They're great.

I'm missing it. It's not bad, but it doesn't grab me much either. I don't understand the gushing praise for it. However, I've liked things that others couldn't understand! 

I have to go back and listen to the second album. I really dug the first one, but I don't think the second grabbed me the same way.

I enjoy this band.

Personally one of my favorite bands ever was Thin Lizzy. Loved everything they ever did, owned everything they did videos, bootlegs ,shirts, etc. This band is no Thin Lizzy but they have that bend in a more 2 dimensional way. I'm a sucker for it. I can't help but enjoy it. Add to it that they have more forward lyrics than many "Christian" bands and I am in.

^^Never been a Thin Lizzy fan but I get what your saying. They have that NWOBHM soundwith a mix of other genres that is so different but a throwback to some of the classics while making it new and fresh.

I splept on them forever too but caved and never looked back

You could be right.  The more I listen to some of the songs from the first two albums, the more I'm liking it 

Haha right on! Their first album was an instant hit with me and their second was a bit of a grower, though now I probably listen to it more than the first. I really enjoy both and am greatly looking forward to album #3 soon!

The first albums was more accessible I think but the second one had some songs that rewarded you with more listens.

Just listened to the new album (III: Pentacost) on Spotify.  I really enjoyed the first 2 but IMO this is their best one yet.  
All of their signature elements are intact but here they ramp up the song craft and the melodic hooks.  
The choruses, rhythms and guitar harmonies are strong and I found no skip tracks.

To me, Wytch Hazel stand out in the crowd of NWOTHM bands because you feel like they are not just trying to create music, but are also trying to create art with beauty, passion, positivity, and purpose.   The lyrics are also brazenly Christian (really it's like worship lyrics) so I wonder how the average NWOTHM is going to react to THAT.  But if you ask me, this band is like Stryper or Tourniquet in the sense that they have the ability to really appeal to the non-Christian music fan.

Top 10 album of 2020 for me , but check it out and see what you think.  

I got my album yesterday.  Quality stuff, not least the packaging.  They've gone to a lot of work to make this.  I've only listened to it once, so can't really comment on how good the tracks are.  Suffice to say, if you like the 3 (now 4) that are available on youtube, then you'll like them all.

I'm not even through my first listen of this album on bandcamp, but this sounds like it could score really high on my year end list. Finally some great christian metal again.

This is the best song so far for me, mix Dio with Tull and a dash of Thin Lizzy and you have an amazing sound.

Loving the new album...already getting stuck in my head.
Got the CD/tshirt combo (which oddly enough comes with a handbag ).
