AC/DC song made by AI

Hilarious!



So someone made a video using AI to make an AC/DC song and this is what came up

That's hilarious!

Now, AC/DC should record this just for a bonus track on their next album.  Maybe they should do "The Metal Pokey" as well!

Not really.  The guy who programmed the AI would be the proper rights holder.  This would fall under the Fair Use Act that allows parodies.  With this being recreated riffs, recycled lyrics in random order, and his own creative work (albeit derivative), I would bet that a judge would rule that this was his original piece inspired by their catalog of music.  When Michael Jackson sued Weird Al, that is what was ruled at the time.

I find myself playing this song at least once a day! I am not sure Michael sued Al. Al always said he got permission from the artist before he ever recorded anything. He said Michael always loved his stuff. He said Prince always turned him down and he approached him several times and mentioned he had an idea for Purple Rain called Acid Rain. 

I think the lawsuit happened because of Coolio and "Amish Paradise". Al did ask for permission but got it from the record label.

I'm with ya Mike.  I've listened to this song 3 or 4 times and I have to confess it's quickly becoming one of my favorite AC/DC songs that they never recorded. 

So what do they do, sample his voice into the AI?

Do we even need bands anymore?

It reminds of the Japanese phenom .. who actually does "live" concerts....

My son went through a phase where he was a big fan of Hatsune Miku.  The team that ran "her" program was supposed to open for Lady Gaga in Seattle a few years back and he bought tickets to go see her.  Apparently the projection of "her" is like 9ft tall. The tour date got rescheduled for some reason and Hatsune wasn't able to open, so he missed out.  But 6 years later he isn't even really interested in it anymore.

I really think this guy is liable to get sued. This is nothing like what Weird Al does, so there is no comparison.

The fact that he is creating these using the artist's name and their actual voice can't be legal.

Those arent the actual voices of the artists, just sound-alike vocals.

It sure sounds like he took samples of their voices and had the computer use that.

I've seen many AI programs do that

In the description for the videos he says "all music performed, mixed, and mastered by me".

No offense, that means nothing. I doubt very much he "performed" anything.

He simply is trying to cover himself

The vocals have enough difference from Brian Johnson and James Hetfield to tell it's not them (Brian Johnson's real singing voice for example is much higher pitched than this guy).

I actually didn't think the vocals were a real person singing at all..lol.....I thought it was the computer program singing using a sample of Brian's voice (that's how they made a lot of the AI singers, they took a sample of a real person's voice, changed the pitch, and then the AI program uses that).

The Metallica one could be real.  The lyrics make about as much sense as the rest of their songs.

Not digging the Metalliclone track nearly as much the AC-D2 track.
The riff is kind of lame (even for Metallica's current standards).

I think the guy can only get sued if he's making money (or attempting to make money) off of the music (like if his youtube channel is monitized).

LOL, Power Gravy!
This one sounds quite a bit less like Bruce Bruce.  As a matter of fact without the lyrics posted at the bottom of the vid I have a hard time understanding him....which I usually don't with the real Bruce.

I'm still trying to figure out how the word "gravy" made its way into the random Maiden lyrics.

I was thinking that for a split second as well and then remembered (wrongly) the lyric "chew their meat and lick the gravy" which is actually supposed to be "cut their meat and lick the gravy".  From "2 Minutes to Midnight"
